Offense stunk- Quit making excuses

The Pats lost by 4 points. Take away the Safety and they lose by 2. I don't see how the Safety really effected the game other than keeping the D out there for one more series.

It impacted the last drive. They only need to go to the 30 yd line for Gostkowski to kick a game winning FG instead they had to go for the TD. It had a huge impact on the final drive and where they had to get to in order to try and win. Probably changed the whole play calling on that drive being down by 4 instead of 2.

The safety indirectly lead to 9 points, which were the only points scored by the Giants in the 1st half. Even if you don't think that the safety had anything to do with the TD scored off the ensuing free kick, you have to admit that a 17-15 lead completely changes the game plan vs a 17-13 lead in the waning moments of the game.

Didn't score 20 pts in the last 2 SB's.
This is the only reason we lost! Did you think we would win without scoring 20 pts? I didn't and bet you didn't either.
Defense did their jobs in both games.

Let er rip........

Your offense is always bad in the big games. You guys have these conservative game plans and your play calling isn't very good. It doesn't help that Brady alwasy seems to turn the ball over and play poorly in these big games. So much for the greatest QB ever.

Fact: Our vaunted O failed in the playoffs. Again. Except for two well-executed drives, the Offense was flat. Normally reliable receivers dropped passes, Brady was mediocre without Gronk and made 2 critical mistakes.

The defense was asked to bail us out time after time, exactly like in the Ravens game. You can't ask a Defense win the game for you.. Our defenses in the SB winning years were incredible--the current guys are mostly castoffs who did yoeman's work and played their asses off. Spikes was a beast; Ninko, Deaderick, Moore, Ellis et al played way over their heads, McCourty, Mayo and Wilfork were solid.

Continuing to ignore the need for a solid running game and putting everything on Brady's shoulders is the definition of insanity. When did Brady and the Pats ever win a Super Bowl? When they could run the ball.

If Brady where Manning, Brees or Rodgers he could carry your team on his shoulders. Sadly, he's not.

There is nothing wrong with what you said. In 2006 they lost in the AFC Championship game.

The Giants beat them in 2007 in the SB, In 2008 they did not make the playoffs.

In 2009 they lost to the Ravens, in 2010 they lost to the Jets. Yesterday was a disaster.

The Pats need to go to a balanced offense. I am tired of the Throw, throw, throw and very little run.

Jets fan? Sanchez is pretty good.

But I do agree somewhat. Seems like the magic is gone. Still love TB though.

UMMMM..... he's not. Montana is.

Yes it is a great history to have, no one is going to take that away but it doesn't change the fact that the offense we have just hasn't been living up to it's end of the game.

You have to admit that the defense played well beyond itself tonight. While the offense left a lot to be desired-sloppy blocking-sloppy attempts at catching the ball-sloppy throws.

This has been my team since 1974 and that won't change but not everything is roses here.

You are not allowed to criticize the Pats. You may buy tickets to the games but don't speak out when there is a problem.

Too many rookies posting here today.

It's stil la team loss. The offense did need to score more points. the defense did make some stops, but also gave us long fields to work with. i think we were pinned inside out 10 yard line 3 times by their punter?

Special teams didn't give us any extra in starting field position either. Still, the offense needed to score more than 17 points (I felt befire the game) for us to win this game. But, you can't be expoected to drive the ball 85 yards to score on most of your possessions unless you are going against a sub par defense.

Keeping the D out there, which also means the offense isn't out there, affects everything else.

What the hell are you talking about? It's a turnover. W/O it maybe the Pats are up 3-0 or 7-0. Instead before I ate my first wing we were down 9-0.

This is like the what came first, the chicken or the egg argument. Offense could have ended the game with the Welker or Hernandez catch and the defense could have ended the game if the stopped the giants on the second to last drive. Offense and defense left too many game changing mistakes plays on the field and the Giants made none.

This is most certainly not like the chicken and the egg argument. No doubt, the defense failed, again, at the end. Did you expect a different result given the situation? If a poll were taken BEFORE the game & it asked will the Patriots win if they are up by two & the Giants have the ball with 3:34 left in the game, how do you think the poll would have read?

As previously posted, They lost because the Patriots offense didn't put distance between the Giants offense and this Patriots defense. On (3) occasions they had the ball in the 2nd half and could have put the Pats up by (2) scores, and they failed. Worse yet, they kept the ball for 6 mins in the fourth quarter and scored zero (0) points, giving it back to the Giants with 3:34. Just enough time for Eli to embarrass our Defense, once again. I think they should have gone for it on 4-11 from the NYG 44 – there was no way this defense was going to hold. And why the f-ck did Brady throw that stupid pass to Gronk - didn't he learn anything from the Slater play the game before? This one is on the offense. 17 points? really? I figured after being on the bench for most of the first half and still scoring 10, they would show their stuff in the 2nd half - pathetic. It is the offenses fault because they are the stronger unit, they had multiple opportunities to make sure this game didn’t come down to a defensive stop & they **** the bit.

21.4 ppg for offense over 5 Super Bowls

Sorry to rub salt on the wounds, but this is no longer a trend, it's a reality.

The Pats are too conservative on offense. Obviously, the two-week preparation does not help the offense. You'd think with one of the greatest QBs of all-time, we'd be able to score a lot of points. The defenses we've faced over the years have been good but not amazing.

Even if Gronk doesn't play in this Super Bowl, this team should score over 17 points.

Too safe. Over-analyzed again.

Multiple x-factors: Ocho, Ridley, Slater. Depth at running back. Once again, we don't have the cajones to take any risks while the defense takes away our strengths.

I thought the double reverse to Welker was a risk. Anytime you've got the ball changing hands that many times, someone is bound to drop it.

And you can also argue that the defense could not get the Giants off the field fast enough because the pats average starting position after punts was like the 13 yard line. The Welker drop did not end the game, the defense could have ended the game but not surprisingly the Giants marched up the field.

O-line did an incredible job tonight. Cannot fault them for anything.

Are you for real? Mankins was a joke and volmer/solder didnt do enough either, the rest were ok

The offense stunk.....but the defense was rotten just like always.

Offense sucked as the the Special Teams. Defense did their job, well, as good as they could
