I know a player should never need "extra" motivation for a Super Bowl, but....

So, I wake up this morning to an ESPN story about Brady being 4 and 3 (and is likely 3 and 4 if Lee Evans catches the TD pass last week) in the playoffs since '07, and Eli Manning being 7 and 1. They were questioning Brady's recent play in the playoffs.

He had 3 ints against the Chargers in '07, as the team barely beat Rivers when Rivers played on one leg, and had 3 ints in two other playoff games. Brady looked horrible in the '08 Super Bowl. He looked horrible two years ago against the Ravens. He didn't look good against the Jets last year. He looked rather shakey this past week too. He was outplayed by Eli in the aforementioned Super Bowl, was outplayed by Mark Sanchez last year, and was outplayed by Joe Flacco last week.

Now my question to Patsfanners: Brady will likely see all these stories over the next 2 weeks. With his drive to prove people wrong, as we've seen over the years, do you think there will somehow be EXTRA motivation for him to win this game? Do you think these stories and the love for the NYGs (there seems to be alot early), will actually work in our favor? Thoughts?

Doesn't help that every analyst, consultant, and other jackass in the United States has their own "gameplan" to beat Brady. Defenders and coaches make their career on stopping Brady; isn't Eli Peyton's little brother? How cute.

Great point. After the Steelers loss, a Steelers fan in my office said that the Steelers showed the world how to beat the Patriots and that their season was over. They lost the next game to the Giants, and he said "see, I told you, they are done". They haven't lost a game since!!!!

I watched that Brady special on ABC, and I just have to wonder, with the way he steps it up when people doubt him, that he may come up big. I'm already seeing the early NYG love on who will win the game. THAT is just what we want, IMHO.

What do you others think?
