I heard three different media members say the same thing....

John Fox did not have faith in Tebow because he defered the opening kickoff.
I also heard Rob Parker and one local media member say the same thing.
I think if was Tony Mazz.

Unbelievable !

What do they think Belichick would have done if the Patriots won the coin toss?

If Belichick defered, would he have not faith in Brady ?

How do these people have jobs?

I don't have any faith in Tom Jackson as an analyst. Neither does Belichick.

Doesn't John Fox defer every kickoff like BB? I think getting the ball to start the second half is a bigger advantage, it allows you to "double score" if you play your cards right.

Yea that's pretty absurd, but you need to understand, the media is a brutal place to try and make a living. In order to stay relevant, you need people talking. In order to get people talking, you say bold (or in this case - stupid) things.

It's no different than Borges or CHB ripping apart the Pats and Sox, sometimes writing insanely ridiculous articles just so people can link to them the next day on local forums or blogs.

Belichick defers all the time with one of the worst statistical defenses in the league. Some coaches just prefer to get the ball first when the game is halfway over and you've had time to adjust and make halftime corrections.

In baseball, it's set so the home team goes last for a reason. Going last is generally better. If they could choose, I bet 95% of the games would remain the same with the home team as the bottom half of the inning.

It's just the way it is, and Jackson and Mazz are idiots.

Pretty sure Skip Bayless said this too, among 5 other excuses for Tebow.

It must frost Tom Jackson's arse watching his Denver Broncos pummeled in Foxboro, MA.

Add ex-Bronco Shannon Sharpe to the list.

Hey Shannon,

Where was the call to the National Guard since the New England Patriots were killing the Denver Broncos?

horse face don't give a shyte

John Fox had absolutely no faith in Tebow, but not because he deferred. Anybody halfway paying attention would have noticed how bizarre it was for the Broncos to be running the ball almost every down when they were down by 3 or 4 scores in the third quarter. Don't know why the pundits aren't talking about how embarrassing that was.

He does.

I'm used to dumb comments by Jackson but this one tops everything.

Any commentary that begins with, "Tom Jackson Says".. should be ignored.

I heard that too, couldn't believe he could be that stupid.

IF tebow cares about what whoever-reporter say, he should lose. if he dont, good for him and all those can go fts.

Because they know how to get people to react to what they say and get people making threads like this one. That is what they are going for, a reaction.

I'm amazed that Jackson is employed and paid well to provide his often ridiculous opinion. I can only hope that BSPN finally loses faith with him, and that he is sent out to pasture.

Tom Jackson really does give credence to the phrase '...if you had a brain you'd be dangerous.'

In fairness to Jackson, there are many other "analysts" who analyze the coin-toss decision as if there was still no option to defer. In the old days, it did mean something significant when a coach chose to kick off. Now, of course, all it means is that the coach prefers to get the ball at the start of the second half, but some old-time commentators can't seem to make this simple adjustment in their thinking.

I think mods need to have a rule that fires upon posting when the term "Tom Jackson" get posted and subsequently immediately gets deleted.

ESPN...let me make this perfectly clear, I hate their analysts.

It's been all about GameDay morning for years....

Dikta...Stop it.
Keyshawn...all about me
Carter...straight up homie
Jackson...too smart
Berman...act getting a bit old

Mort and Adam are the only two guys I don't mind on that show...

Thanks you! I was screaming this at the game after the half...nobody around me got it!
