49ers because I DO NOT want to see any highlights of the TGTSNBM because I've tried to forget that game and that's all we will hear those 2 weeks if/when we get there.

Excellent point! So much of sports is media coverage today--and sometimes it's such that you're forced to avoid it.

I'm a native New Englander who has lived in both SF and NY (hated the Jets, appreciated the Giants). Will be rooting for my fave 2nd team, SF, over my 3rd fave team, Giants, in the NFL final.

No, that's not you, that's me. :nono:

Seriously, that's spooky.

revenge!!!!!!!!!!!

Fair enough, but the way I figure it, if and when the Patriots win the Superbowl, I'll be 100% overjoyed, no matter who they beat. Any extra happiness is just a rounding error at that point.

Think it though people. Even if you don't hate the Giants, like me, do you really want to subject yourself to the full media "remember the 2007 SB" :deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse:.

This will start the moment the SB is set and will go on and on even after the SB game. Maybe some of you won't set yourself on fire when you can't escape it, but I'm going to have the gas can and matches at ready.

Even revenge will not be worth it.

The 49ers. If worse came to worse and we lost to one I can certianly handle losing to them.

If they Lost against the Giants again I might have to commit myself. And given both teams I think the 49ers are a much easier team to beat.

Ravens, then giants.......talk about exorcisms

Well, it's simple:
Pats vs Ravens
If Ravens win, I don't care about the NFC.
If the Patriots win then:

Pats vs SF
We win? Awesome. An incredible amount of joy!
We lose? Sadness and despair.

Pats vs Giants
We win? Super awesomeness, REVENGE! JOY! WOO HOO!
We lose? Shooting spree, many innocents killed. Me in jail.

Do I think the Giants would beat us? No, but there's always a chance, and for the sake of my neighbors, I have to hope for SF to win.

I want a revenge game...TB12 & gang will not only win the SB, they'll get even with Giants!

SF because I don't want the Giants bragging about being in the SB. I want SF to end their season.

Like to see a couple of those blind hail mary Eli heaves intercepted and returned for TD's this weekend:verycool:

There were 3 Packers defenders standing in the endzone when he chucked that Hail Mary Sunday wtf???

Of course it's the Giants. I can only imagine how pissed Brady & Belichick would be after spending 2 whole weeks talking about SB42. We might set a Super Bowl record for largest margin of victory.

Revenge!

Revenge would be awesome, but I couldn't stand the time before the SB, so for my well-being I'll root for the 49ers.

I guess I could go either way, but I'm leaning toward the Giants. I know we lost to the Giants earlier this season, but our offense was in a funk at the time and I believe our defense is better now than ever this season. I think our in-game and next-game adjustments show excellent coaching, and I believe we'd win the second time around. And then there's the revenge factor... on every team that ended our run since 2004:

2005 - Broncos (done)
2006 - Colts (didn't make the playoffs, had an embarrassing year)
2007 - Giants (the biggest open sore)
2008 - Bernard Pollard, now on the Ravens
2009 - Ravens (if we beat them this weekend, which I think we will)
2010 - Jets (beat them soundly twice, they didn't make the playoffs, implosion of epic proportions)

I absolutely loathe and detest the Giants, my hate for them burns like the sun, I wish eternal failure on them, I dont want to see them win another game in my lifetime.

So, I'm rooting for the 49ers!

I want the Giants. Time to settle old scores.

I want the 49ers. Another loss to the giants and i might seriously end up in a coma

My first thought was, Giants, revenge etc.

But as many here have noted, I'd have to refrain from watching or reading for the two weeks leading up to it due to 2007 regurgitation. It will be incessant. We know this.

I've decided I don't want to hear any of that.

Serious question? 49ers.

I want NO part of Giants. They are on a roll

Couldn't watch TV for 2 weeks due to ref to 2007 SB.

If the pats did lose again to them in the Sb...no

Nope can't do it
