Saints vs 49'ers Game

A lot of Pats fans on this forum think that we have a defense in the same breath as the 49er defense.

Those pats fans are stupid, blind and i dont know what els. the 49ers D is amazing. if they only had a decent QB they were a serious contendors...

Who? I think the Pats have a middle of the pack defense and people consider me a homer.

All of the people that say the same thing, yet present cherry picked stats that attempt to make an argument that the Pats have a top ten or five defense. And no, I'm not nor wasn't talking about you. There are plenty of homers here who absolutely put you to shame. Remember that "we officially have a top ten defense!" thread? Yeah.

They are ultra conservative, but that's what got them here. I doubt they deviate from that. For better or worse.

I wasn't accusing you of saying it was me. Sorry if you thought that. Wasn't my intention.

I was saying I am more optimistic about the Pats defense than most and I wouldn't put them in the same hemisphere as the 49ers' defense. I have heard a lot of people thinking similar to me, but other than the occasional delusional homer I have never seen anyone say the Pats' defense is any better than average.

The 9ers do not have a great offense and they are not doing what got them into the playoffs. The 49ers were the 8th ranked rushing team and the 29th ranked passing team yet they have 8 rushing attempts in the first half. I think that was a tactical error by the 49ers. they should have ran it down the Saints' throats. They cannot win on the arm of Alex Smith.

Admittedly, there's no statistical basis for this argument.

I just have a feeling that they're gonna come together and perform better than the regular season indicates.

They are serious contenders. They have the #2 seed.

CORRECTION!!

The 49ers have a great receiving core and a great running back......they just don't have a quarterback capable of taking advantage of it.
