What happened this weekend? All four home teams won?

Do you think noise was a factor?

I do.

The Bengals and Lions faded in the second half and they both seemed to be distracted and worn down by the noise.

I went to the Giants game and I can tell you that it was very loud in there from the beginning, and we know that the Falcons never got going on offense.

Now I know the shape of the Stadium in Foxboro sucks. I know that the noise escapes.

But I also know that we just don't make the noise that is made elsewhere.

Please, people, do your part next Saturday night.

What do we need to do to make this happen?

Reiss agrees with you, in his mailbag:
New England Patriots Mailbag -- focus on Denver Broncos - ESPN Boston

Q: Mike, on the your blog, some have commented that the crowd noise is not as loud as in a lot of stadiums. You have been to a lot of stadiums, some enclosed and some like Gillette that is somewhat open. Is it loud enough at Gillette Stadium? -- David (North Attleboro, Mass.)

A: David, I've heard Gillette Stadium get really loud, but in terms of consistent noise and support, I'd put it in the lower third of stadiums I've been to. The gold standard for me is actually Seattle. We were there in 2008 and it was the end of Mike Holmgren's run as head coach, in December, and they were out of it. Still, that place rocked. To me, that really felt like a home-field advantage.

All that stuff about noise escaping is not that important because I'm a season ticket holder and the place gets really loud in spurts. I think the issue is complacency and games not being "big enough" for the "spoiled" home crowd. I have a friend from SF, he said coming to Gillette reminds him of the old Candlestick crowd during the 49ers golden years. This game is a big one, no matter how you look at it....I feel comfortable in saying the joint will be rocking!!

Let's go people!!

Bring megaphones, cow bells, horns, Candada geese......whatever it takes!

If it's anything like the playoff game last year I'll be ecstatic! I'd say at least 90% of crowd was standing the ENTIRE game and making noiseevery second the Pats were on D.

I know it's not the same as the Jets, but it's an 8pm kickoff (gives you more time to get lubed up ) and the chosen one is coming to town....so make some fahkn noise! Being in your seats at kickoff would be nice too (I know it's not your fault, getting through the gate has been a mess this season)

Drink early and often.

I agree Make as much noise as possible! In return you will be rewarded with the sound of the End Zone Militia! :rocker:

With it being an 8:00 game I have a feeling the stadium will be quite loud. :eat2:

As for why it is not louder, to me it is a function of both a certain segment of the crowd as well as the construction. Seattle's stadium was built with specific instructions to the architects to design it to retain sound and be loud. I don't think anyone would stereotype people from that area as being louder and rowdier than anywhere else. Similarly dome stadiums are by default going to be louder (even without enhanced noise), so comparisons to those places are somewhat unfair.

Hopefully someday soon the Patriots will have some renovations done to help make the stadium louder; it's really unfortunate that was not considered when it was being designed.

Drink early and often.

This is the 12th man key to the game!

You know during the Bronco's Steelers game someone posted that he would take a drink everytime Phil Simms made excuses for the Steelers or Ben. I hope that guy did not die of alcohol poisoning.
