Hernandez quietly putting together a solid 2nd season

Jimmy Graham's blocking is at the very least on par with Hernandez'. He's also split out wide in a great deal of the plays he's in. Honestly, saying you'd rather have Hernandez than Graham at this point is borderline insane.

What I'm saying is that, Aaron was a more polished and complete receiver coming out of college than Jimmy Graham. The TE spot in 2010 was a dire need to us. I highly doubt the Patriots would have taken a project TE in the 3rd round who only played football for the first time ever in his senior year in college.
His stats-17 rec 213 yards, 5 td's in college.

I know Hernandez played well so far this season but the only play I can remember is the dropped ball which turned out to be Brady's first ever interception in the red zone at home..

Very solid season for Hernandez especially since he missed games with a hurt knee and played a few other games not at 100%. Even with the injuries he put up really good production for a tight end.

I can't believe the kid is only something like 21 years old. He's going to be a good one and this team is really lucky to have two great tight ends which make it really hard for the defense to predict what is coming.

Aaron Hernandez is 25th in the league in receptions with 59 through 13 games, but only played in 9 - his average # of catches is nearly 7 per game. He could wind up with 75-80 catches. Amazing for a 3rd receiver.

His catches are the nasty short yardage ones you need to keep the ball moving, especially in the no-huddle. He's one of those under-appreciated guys that make Brady and Gronkowski successful with what they do.

Every time Aaron gets a ball thrown his way...I close my eyes...

Huh, I get up off my seat every time he's thrown to, he's the most exciting broken field runner on the team. Our wideouts make their best moves before the ball is thrown, but Hernandez and Gronk are all about YAC; they want to take every ball to the House. I love that attitude.

I would not mind trading Hernandez to Denver in the offseason for Decker.

Near to Gronk Moss 07 season seems like a fluke

Umm...how in hell do you see AH for Erick Decker as a good trade?

AH has the talent to be very productive as the no.1 guy in another offense...if we're gonna trade him atleast do it for a legit outside WR.

Neither would we.

I agree. BB wouldn't either. AH is too valuble to the offense.

With that said, the team does need to determine what it will do at the WR position for 2012. WW must be re-signed, Branch is on the back-17 and OC is sure as gone.

The New England Patriots could have hypothetically drafted Decker if the Derrick Burgess trade from the Oakland Raiders never was completed.

After Maroney, BB vowed not to draft anymore Golden Gophers..

After Maroney, BB learned to not over-rule all of his actual scouts just because Josh McDaniels said that his little brother (a coach at Minnesota) said Maroney was good.

WTF!!!! No one here remembers the winning TD Hernandez caught at the end of the Cowboys game? Shame on you people.

Aaron Hernandez is a valuable asset in the New England Patriots pass offense. Refer to Chad Ochocinco, Taylor Price (cut), Brandon Tate (cut) for any problems with the New England Patriots pass offense.

I am so happy to have Hernandez as a part of this team.

Without Gronk taking away targets from Hernandez I have no doubt he would be over a 1000 yard pass catcher. He is never going to be a true in-line tight end, but the presence of Gronk doesn't necessitate him to be.

He is flat out unstoppable as a pass catcher. He can beat press coverage, and he can take on corners, safeties and linebackers. A true matchup nightmare. He reminds me of the Sharpe brothers in some ways.

And the best part is he keeps getting better. All he needs to do is keep building a rapport with Brady and add weight and muscle and he will be a force to be reckoned with.

I agree with Uncle Rico PF77

Hernandez makes me cringe a lot. He does some things really well, but other times he's a real head scratcher.

He reminds me of Maroney when he runs. He never just... runs with the ball. He always seems to try and make someone miss, but they rarely do

What in the world are you watching? He almost always makes the first defender miss. He's great at avoiding tacklers.
