I always liked Jake although he struggled in Cleveland (doesn't every QB struggle in Cleveland?).

It appears they were either going to Jeff Garcia or Jake and took the slightly younger QB.

Jake has playoff experience to eventually start in the playoffs and help out Yates with fundamentals in the meantime.

Whether he helps the Texans try to get a bye is going to be tough.

His last two years in the league Jake Delhomme made Tyler Palko look like Johny Unitas. This does not even include the single worst game I have ever seen a QB play---his 2008 playoff MELTDOWN against the Cardinals.

You have some strange perceptions, and your perception of Jake is one of your strangest. In Carolina alone in 90 starts he had 89 INTS and 57 freakin fumbles... He's one of the most frenetic gunslingers to ever play the game, and hanging on to him cost Fox his job in Carolina. No poise, erratic mechanics, poor decision maker. That he ever managed to get to a SB is a ode to the randomness of this game...

Never said he was a great QB...I just liked the guy

He did have a heck of a 4th quarter in the SB though

Are they better off with Yates learning from Clemens?

Delhomme is a traink wreck.I will definetly be an atlanta falcons fan this week. The texans might have an easy schedule after that.

Too bad they didn't get Kurt Warner.

There is nothing Jake can teach you that will help you in this situation...or help your team win now. Their defense gives them a shot as long as the QB doesn't throw the game away...which is Jake's forte...

What Brett Favre wasn't available???

They'll be running the ball more than anything anyway and T.J. Yates should be running the offense I believe..

well I guess that helps the Pats get the number one seed

Ha ha ha....I agree. Isn't there anybody else on the scrap heap that is better than this guy right now? Isn't Daunte Culpepper available

Ironic that the 2011 Texans are defined by their defense and not their offense.

They are real desperate. Might as well give it a shot. It's better than more Favre drama.

I think their running game has a little to say about that.
No doubt the running game has been impressive, but it's nowhere near as impressive as their defensive turnaround under Wade Phillips.

It's insane that they would sign this guy over David Garrard.

Garrard would be perfect for this Houston team. When they kept the reigns on him in Jacksonville, he showed good game management skills and low mistake rate. With Houston's running game he could reprise that role and give this team a real shot at a SB. Delhomme will sink them faster than a pair of concrete shoes.

Garrard had back surgery in October. Due diligence dictates that's a risky proposition.

Connor Barwin. I get angry every time I see or hear his name. Of all the we could of had this guy instead of this guy threads to come out. This one irks me. Many wanted him and they passed on him twice in the second round.
