Eagles release S Jarrad Page.

Why? Is the fact he failed in Philly a reason we should want him after not wanting him before?

Who said the Pats didn't want him before? You seem to forget that the Pats had put a 2nd round tender on Page when he was in Free Agency Limbo due to the CBA. Just because they didn't make him a priority once the CBA was finalized doesn't mean he's not better than what we have..

I think the fact we expected the JAGS we have now to actually develop into NFL caliber players led to the release of Page, Meriweather, and Sanders….all of which I'd welcome back with open arms.

Page wasn't released. His contract was up. He was an RFA under the old CBA rules, but a UFA under the new ones..

It appears lot of people have trouble wrapping their head around this concept

I thought that the Patriots wanted to sign him for a couple of years and Page instead went to Philly and signed a one-year deal to probably prove himself and cash in next year.

He was a restricted free agent, but the Pats tendered him at a level where no compensation was required. Up until he signed with the agles I thought he would be back.

I would sign him in a millisecond. Does anybody know when/if he has to clear waivers?

There's a lot of excitement over a guy who played in only 20% of the defensive snaps last year and was absolutely atrocious in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia has been universally atrocious. They can't claim the head of anyone who has 10 mil tied to their name, and at this point, everyone just wants heads to roll in Philly. That's not to say Page has been flawless, but when Sterling Moore can step in and be that much better than his teammates, I can't rule anyone out as a viable option. Whether or not Moore was thought of highly by a raider fan someone knows, he is Sterling Moore.

For the people puzzled by the excitement surrounding Page's availability, I have one name: Sergio Brown. That is all.

One thing the Raiders personnel can do correctly seems to be to scout defensive back, they have a plethora of them on stock.

I'd love to take the person who is scouting those defensive backs,
Sterling Moore definitely is impressive physically reminds me of a less heralded Gino Wilson.
I truly believe he is a keeper and will be with the team the next few years at least.

Whether he's starting a rotational player with a good amount of snaps, or a gunner on special teams the kid is a keeper.

Some people just need a chance to prove they belong in the same group to people who came from bigger programs, better promotion from their peers or agents, or faced top competition,
Belichick always says you can't control who is on your schedule you just play them.

That being said Jarrad Page would be a welcome addition Sergio looks like he lacks confidence or instincts or possibly both but at this point I certainly don't want him on the field when we have to make a stop to win a ball game.

We all know there's AJerk somewhere around the board who's made it AJob to apologize for everything the Patriots do, and defend them to the last key on his keyboard.

My question is, simply, when the Pats re-sign Page, will this member, AJoke to most forum regulars, do a 180 and praise the Pats for making a brilliant move?

Not anymore! LOL

Some are saying he's hurt. Some are saying he was cut because he was out at the club where shots were fired the other day. Don't know if either would prevent the Pats from bringing him in for a chat, but I hope they do.

The analysis disregards something BB covets, attitude and dedication. I don't know Page's level of dedication or whether he has or doesn't have a poor attitude. However, anyone who has been following the team since 2001 knows BB will take the less talented guy who has those two qualities. I suspect, admittedly based not on fact but simply a hunch, BB made some of these head scratching cuts and has put unknowns/castoffs on the 53 man roster based on these two qualities or lack thereof.

If Page is a guy who was dedicated and willing to do what the coaches asked, I would think he would be a positive addition. If these two qualities were in question and this is part of the reason he did not remain on the Patriots, I don't want him near the Patriots roster. At this point it appears the Patriots are stacked with dedicated, team first guys (buh bye Haynesworth). I'd rather see what we can do with the type guys.

For instance, say what you want about his lack of production, Ocho Cinco's utter lack of production and lack of spotlight now as compared to most of his career, I would have thought that would be a chemistry problem. However, he has really shown something by not being problematic while putting forth max. effort to improve within the Patriot system.

BB also analyzes and projects where he expects the younger or newer players to be as the season progresses. That's why he cut the DBs he cut - he projected that with experience on the field and in his system the remaining players would be better with time.

If they wanted him he would still be a Patriot. The fact that he's not is the only proof I need. Furthermore, I've been scouting him and his skill set is not ideal for the schemes that we are running.

Is that the same scouting technique you used to talk down to the masses that said the Pats would shift to a 4 - 3 this year, while you insisted they didn't have the talent to do so, based on your keen skill, knowledge, and scouting ability? Just kidding. Couldn't resist. LOL

It appears that Page has passed threw waivers with no transactions reported involving him yet.

I didn't think he was any great shakes when he was with us last year. I also got the feeling he wasn't "all-in" with the rest of the guys.

And by the way, I didn't say they wouldnt shift to a 43, I said they wouldn't change to a one gap base defense. I'm not sure why you think giving my opinion is talking down, while yours is not.

Why would you think I 'seem to forget' that? I don't see the relevance due to the change in tender rules, and the expiring CBA.
They allowed him to walk for a pretty small contract, and there was a reason. If you choose tio ignore that fact, go ahead, but it still happened.

So, no claim? Have the Pats again opted to turn the page?
