Same reason why Polamalu batting the ball into the EZ wasn't a penalty...the officials are inept.

A fan e-mailed the geniuses on nfl network(round table discussion) asking if that play was illegal, they avoided the question and talked about "what a heads up play it was by Polamalu", "showcasing his quick thinking ability in game deciding situations" etc. talk about inept, jim mora, warren sapp(and 2 other analysts)

not sure if they just like stroking players, don't know the rules or both?
