1.) Trading a draft pick for a player you already know works for the team is a silly way to try proving your point. Would you trade that pick for Adalius Thomas?
2.) Trading a 1st for 2007 Vrabel would be the sort of bad move that gets GMs fired.
While I wouldn’t trade a 1st for a 2007 Vrabel I don’t think the “most GM’s would get fired for that move” is a good barometer to measure the intelligence of a decision. People here laugh at the idea that we could trade Hoyer for an early pick because ‘no GM with half a brain would spend such an early pick on a guy who doesn’t have any starting experience’ yet none of them would think twice about spending an early 1st round pick on a college QB with 0 NFL experience, let alone NFL starting experience.
