Who does one root for tomorrow when the Jets host the Chargers.

Of course every fiber of my being desperately wants to see the Charger CRUSH the Jets in front of the rotten vermin who follow them (and I mean that in the most respectful way) The humiliation of Rex in front the hometown crowd AND media, would just be too sweet.

HOWEVER - It looks like we are going to be battling the Chargers and Ravens all the way to the end of the season for just TWO playoff byes. In THAT respect a conference loss wouldn't hurt our cause. Aren't the Chargers REALLY more of a threat than the Jets, and wouldn't it be much better to play them HERE in January.

Help me out here guys. What are my priorities.... OR just I just go for a long walk at 1pm.

You root for the Chargers and it's not even close. This should be every Patriots fan's order of hatred:

1. Jets
2. Colts
3. Steelers
4. Chargers
5. Ravens
6. Miami
7. Bills

Ken, don't waste any brainpower on this decision -- this one isn't about logic. When the games comes on the tv, you WILL find yourself rooting against the Jets with every fiber of your being, no matter what rational decision you reached beforehand. Just roll with it.

It's too early to tell which loss would be more beneficial to us for sure. The Jets you cannot write them off for the division, if they beat us in a few weeks they may be neck and neck with us depending on how these next few games go. Root SD to be on the safe side, when we do lock up the division we can put SD/Balt as the priorities.

Goal one: Win the division. GO Chargers.

This is a pretty easy call actually.....

Go Chargers!

Look, do you think the Chargers are going to win out against a pretty good Oakland team, an improving KC team, and a Denver....well.....let's stick with Oakland and KC.

Remember....Norv Turner is their HC....not going to happen....plus we do have the head-to-head tie break.

Too much of the season is left to worry about other teams finishing acts....not even halfway there yet....

But the Jesters losing....that is always rewarding....regardless of their record...how could you not want them to stew through a home field loss entering their bye week with the Pats having 3 games up on them in the loss column and they having some tough games coming out....Let's have SD bury the Jesters....and smile...

Actually I think it's in our best interest that the Colts start winning games now. We don't want their pick to be #1 plus Manning's potential return next year.

I could never root for the Colts. Either way it's lose-lose for us in the case of the Colts.

They start winning: Peyton is back next year
They lose out and draft Luck: Peyton gets traded to Miami. UGH!

Root for the Chargers. They have Norv Turner the greatest regular season coach in the history of the NFL. Playoffs - No so much. Plus the Pats have shown they can beat the Chargers as the do on a regular basis.

How can the OP even ask such a question?

We are all Chargers fans this weekend. One of the main reasons I really hated the Chargers was because of LaWhinian Win-none-son.

With him on the Jets, it's even more of a no-brainer.

You should try looking out for this thread which was apparently posted too early this week...

I'm rooting for a tie

Did you just call Norv Turner the best regular season coach in NFL history? He's not even .500!!!! Wiki says he's exactly .500 in the playoffs.

Never, ever, root for the Jets for any reason.

I hope every year that they never win another game , go bankrupt, and the NFL gives Puerto Rico it's first NFL franchise.

I was on a beach on the Bay of Pigs in Cuba last week for work and I actually got to see both the Pats/Cowboys game and the Jets/Dolphins game.
In watching the Jets game, it ws so obvoious that had Miami had any kind of a head coach other than Sporano and any QB other than Moore, that the Dolphins would have won that game. What I loved about the Jets winning (the only thing) was that its given them an utterly false sense of confidence. Back on track, etc blah blah blah.
The Jets offense is terrible and Sanchez is playing scared and without any confidence. You put a decent team in front of the Jets, a team like San Diego, with a very good QB and a decent defense, the Jets are in deep *****.
The Jets will not win this game and I am going to love every second of it!

Ken, there absolutely is no question here: root AGAINST the New Jersey Green Beans. Let's see them buried early. Plus, we already hold a tie-breaker against San Diego.

What? no brainer - root against the Jets - 24/7/365

I want the Jets dead and buried, because I don't want to see them in the playoffs. They are a different animal in the playoffs and would give us a tough time. Go Chargers!

Root against division foes until the division title is wrapped up

THEN you look to positioning for the bye, especially since, in this case, the Patriots have the tiebreaker against the Chargers. To help ease your mind about Cheering for the Chargers, remember that they still have to play

Packers
Ravens
Bears
Bills
Lions
Raiders *2

and those teams are all teams with legitimate shots to beat the Chargers. For that matter, the Chiefs kept it within 3, in San Diego, while they were still reeling for their personnel losses in weeks 1&2, and they've probably got at least a shot against the Chargers as well.

Here I supplied you with one of these since yours in broken:
