What I find puzzling is that this leaves us, for the Bills game, only ONE tight end.

Unless we plan to use Solder a lot more at TE.

I hope that this is not a sign that we will sacrifice in the run game to add another DB to counter the Bills spread offense.

A move of either OL or TE is coming soon with Hernandez out and Vollmer out.

Except with Vollmer out, that pretty much eliminates using Solder at TE.

It seems to me that most likely there is another roster move about to be announced (surprise, surprise).

After Yeatman was cut and D.Gronk was on the roster: "Yeatman's not that good anyway."

After D.Gronk was cut: "BB is an idiot for cutting Yeatman."

Don't leave out the "BB is an ***hole comment.

I was a little concerned when he was signed that this might happen at some point. It's not his first rodeo and it's not like he hasn't been cut a couple of times already... There is usually a reason why. He may be back, or some other TE may be added as the days get colder. For now with the injuries we're dealing with the game plan may be something we haven't shown a soul yet... And if it pans out thereafter opponents will be scrambling to decide just what the hell it is they are preparing for...

I'm still more concerned about whatever shape this D is attempting to take it begins to gel.

And for those complaining about old meanie waiting til the last minute...pahleeese. Part of his job is to keep opponents guessing. If a few friends and families get their feelings hurt in the process, so be it. This is the NFL, not soccer moms united for fun in sports.

I don't think he's waiting until the last minute for any reason other than the uncertainty at so many positions. Will they need a punter? A OT? A different TE?

Hopefully Mesko can go in which case I think the 3rd OT becomes most important again. Do we bring Welch back up for another week?

This roster roulette is getting out of hand. Why even sign the guy just to cut him before his 'home' game? It comes across as a pretty heartless move, especially since his brother is on the team. This is as mysterious to me as benching Welker.

Exactly what I was thinking. With Dan gone and hernandez hurt, we have only 1 TE dressed for the game. A very weird situation for the Pats! Unless of course the human swiss-army knife known as Tarpinian can also play TE?

Tarpinian was an option QB in HS and an ILB in college.. *shrug* who knows.

My guess is that the move will be an OT.. Probably promoting Welch off the practice squad. I wouldn't be surprised to see Guyton shown the door or traded for a pick, to open up a slot for the Pats for a TE. I didn't understand them promoting Tarpinian with the issues at TE and OT still not decided..

In other words, I see another move having to be made before the Pats can add Mills to the Roster, unless Belichick thinks that Thomas can back up at OT, which I don't think is the case.

And go into the game without a back-up at OT? That makes a lot of sense...

Unless they make another move on the O-line, they only have Wendell and Thomas, both interior linemen. And Wendell is still showing up on the injury report. If he's able to go, great.. Then Thomas can be cut and Welch promoted as the extra OT.. And then Mills could be added.

Otherwise, I don't see another TE added..

It's a dream come TRUE.

I have nothing against the guy, personally, but his continued presence on our roster would've always reminded me of the GALACTIC stupidity of cutting Will Yeatman ~ who Coach Bill The Mad clearly hoped to reclaim after trading Darius Butler ~ and then settling for...THIS guy.

Coach Bill The Mad is without PEER...But sometimes he DOES do UNFATHOMABLY stupid things.

Frankly, I think he over-thinks things, sometimes: Tries to outsmart the entire world, as Brother Mayo put it.

Mills makes sense as the temporary replacement for Aaron the Navigator. Gronk II was more of a classic blocking Tight End, not even a Flex End like Gronk I, whereas Mills is clearly a Wing Back, like Aaron the Navigator, and makes a much better compliment to Rob Gronkowski.
