Third, you're a hypocrite for complaining about other teams fans coming to your board and talking smack when this whole thread was started from one of your teams fans coming to our board and posting a smack talking thread here about how "confident" we are.

The OP didn't go to the other board and talk smack. PatsDeb did not go to the other board and talk smack. The word "Hypocrisy" does not apply.

Yep. We lost that game which was frustrating. But thats over and done with. Now i'm using it to look at this game, which is all that matters, since it looks like neither of us won the Super Bowl last year, and both still can this year. Deus makes a good point, but the only player that is historically better is Brady over Rivers, but thats like saying my Ferrari isworth more than your jaguar. There are other factors like revivers, blockers, backs, and the D. I'm sure that Brady will be better this week and i'm sure that the Pats are better on both sides of the ball. As are we.
Seperately, is it at all worrisome that the bolts pass D held Mcnab to under 40 yards? I know that (sticking with my cars) Mcnab is a 2001 toyota Camry, but the bolts pass D was #1 last year and held Brady to 159 yards. They are seeming to pick up exactly where they left off. I for one am a bit worried that they loose that rep after this game. But I'm just curious about your thoughts. Even if you think Brady will torch them, tell me if you think they should beat all feared.

Ahhh. A non-offensive post. Yes, it's worrisome that you held Brady to 159 yds. passing last year, but I don't think they had this 2 tight end offense going yet. Plus, didn't we get a lot of points off a short field? I just went back to look at the stats because all I can remember about the game is the Chargers fumbling a lot (no offense intended). Blah - those are some pretty bad stats on both sides. Looks like neither team could get much going except for Rivers in the 4th, and then it was too little too late. McNabb is incredibly bad (I should know, I had him as my fantasy QB last year for a time and his stats were about what he did on Sunday for some games last year, and remember he was benched by Mike Shanahan) and didn't Minnesota lose its best receiver via free agency?

In any event, while I can't blame you for being confident that holding a QB the previous week to such paltry numbers will carry over, I don't think you can compare Brady and his core of receivers to McNabb & whoever he's playing with. Miami supposedly has a good defense too, and they have in fact given Brady fits in the past, but he just lit them up. The key for him was all the time Brady got. The O line played great, despite the fact that we started a rookie and a guy we signed off the street about a week before on the right side, and our starting center went down less than half way through the game. If they can duplicate that against the Chargers, I think your D is in for a long day, particularly in Foxboro where Brady doesn't lose very often (except the playoffs lately )

I am more worried about our D not holding up against your offense. Our run defense is pretty good, but we continue to give up a lot of yards to mediocre QBs (Henne), so a really good one like Rivers is worrisome, along with Gates and Jackson. The thing that helps us, I think, which was on display in our last meeting and again last week, is Rivers seems to get off to a really slow start. I am hoping that the Pats can get up by a couple of scores before Rivers can get going, and then the D can hang on. Not a great recipe for victory, but one we've been living on for a while around here. And if our pass rush can ever really get going (there are signs of improvement), then we'll be really hard to defeat.
