Patriot roster cut CB Jonathan Wilhite goes to the Broncos

I thought Wilhite would be hard pressed to get another job in the NFL because if he wasn't injured,he pretty much stunk when healthy, but Denver appears to be desperate for secondary depth.

First Maroney and now Wilhite within the past 3 years along with Jarvis Green and a beat up Ty Warren ....you would think the Broncos wouldn't gamble on NEs rejects but they keep going.

Don't forget Gaffney, Graham, Chad Jackson, Hochstein (?)...are their more? Wow, that organization should be paying BB as a surrogate scout.

I think of all of those guys, Graham performed okay; the rest are blah.

i usually consider anything past the 3rd round, a gem if it works out, but not much f a loss if it doesn't

But but...we drafted a HOF QB (potentially GOAT) in the 6th round so anyone before that who isn't a HOFer is a bust and a JAG and absolutely garbage.

Seriously though, he was the 28th DB taken in that draft too. He's played more games than several guys ahead of him, including Leodis McKelvin who was drafted 1st round, 11th overall, Patrick Lee and Terrence Wheatley (ouch) in the 2nd, and Chevis Jackson, Reggie Smith, Antwaun Molden (uh oh), and Dajuan Morgan in the 3rd.

He shouldn't have started 8 games in 2009, I agree. But that's hardly his fault. He did the best he could, and really the team should have had a better option than a 2nd-year 4th-rounder.

He exceeded all reasonable expectations and I hope he makes the team in Denver.

Amen. When pick #129 plays 39 games for you -- starting 13 of them -- before new players beat him out for a roster spot, that's clearly a successful draft pick.

I know! Isn't is sad how the Pats get free agents to fill in holes in their roster when EVERY other team just takes advantage of their 8 new pro bowlers every year. Man, BB just doesn't get football.

Yeah, but how many Pro Bowls and AP All Pro selections did he get? I don't ever recall seeing him in any MVP discussion either. Buuuuuust!

Show me a team that has only rookies and 2,3,4,5 year drafted players on it that were drafted by them and does not have a new FA or recent veteran signing added to their team?

I don't think you will find one.

While Wilhite struggled, I'm glad he's landed somewhere. Sometimes a change of scenery can help.
