Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

Manning and Brady are deservedly 1 and 1 in terms of best QBs. Deal with it.

Colts fan?

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

Oh, REALLY???

Who's got LESS credibility, here??

ME...

Or YOU??

Would you care to put that to a VOTE, Chuckles??

If it's you, then the entire forum's credibility goes to ZERO.

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

His passer rating is lower, his ay/a is lower.

He's 9 and 10 in the playoffs. The one year he won the superbowl he threw 3 tds and 7 ints.

He's won only 2 mvps that he deserved. The same as Tom Brady.

Didn't someone just post that Manning has essentially identical playoff numbers to Brady?

You guys are crying about stats, well you got some...

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

Colts fans like Reggie Wayne 911 make me laugh. I can picture them in their mother's basement with their Peyton Manning fathead and fake sewn on jersey they bought on ebay, watching Manning throw INT after INT and thinking "Oh that was the O line's fault!" or when Manning threw the game clinching pic 6 in the Super Bowl "Oh that was Reggie's fault!"

Their mancrush for Manning goes so far that when the team does anything right, he gets all the credit, and when he does something costly, other teammates get the blame.

I'm a big Brady fan, but I care about the Pats as a team first, not Brady.

They could find a better mancrush anyway than Mr. Forehead...he's ugly, rather goofy, and has never gotten it done when it mattered. (Rex Grossman was the real MVP of that superbowl.)

You're sounding very bitter, Dche, old kid!!

And considering the BEATING you're taking, I don't BLAME you!!

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

Coaches film?

What coaches are giving up their film to those guys?

No. He's a probowler with the Chiefs. With the Pats he was rather average against one of the weakest schedules in Patriots history.

You were talking about his second year, when he was sacked 42 times, had a rating of 69.9 and DID NOT go to the probowl.

Welker had in 3 seasons before coming to the pats 1 td. Harrison had 2 800+ yards and a 8 td and 6 td season and that's on a par? Same with Harrison over Brown but less so.

you specifically said

'Welker was not successful before Brady. Making things is not going to help your case.

Marvin Harrison's seasons without Peyton Manning were better than Troy Brown, Danny Woodhead, and Wes Welker's seasons without Brady.'

Well, Welker had 67 receptions the year before he came to the Pats. Harrison had 64 and 73 receptions.

Brown had 83 receptions the year before Brady took over.

Woodhead? C'mon. He was behind Shonn Greene, Thomas Jones and Leon Washington. If we had those guys Woodhead would still be riding pine.

Looks like YOU were the one making stuff up.

Just ignore the fact that Reggie Wayne was his primary receiver not Jacob Tamme. Hernandez was a fourth round draft pick too

Yeah, and how many reception did Hernandez have? Not 67. And Hernandez is clearly more talented than Tamme.

Edge had 1000 yard rushing seasons with the Cards before he got old like rbs do.

Yeah, Edge had 3900 yards from scrimmage and 23 TDs his last two years with Indy and 2800 yds and 13TDs in his two years with Arizona. His seasons with Arizona were his worst as a pro.

Key factor: No Manning.

If you wanna see real falling off the cliff, see Reche Caldwell. Patriots leading receiver in 2006. Redskins 4th receiver in 2007. Out of football 2008

He had made some progress in San Diego but had injury problems. His performance wasn't surprising considering his past and the numbers of opportunities he got with the Patriots.

I'm not bitter at all. Just in awe of your lack of objectivity.

Interesting that Patriots followers lack objectivity when it comes to a Manning-Brady debate yet Colts fans are the voice of reason.

You mean like when he drove down and knocked us out of the Super Bowl with less than 2 minutes left in '06?

Apparently, that 'didn't matter' to you.

Nothing wrong with being a homer, but don't argue something like you're not biased. Just realize that you're biased and bow out.

Sitting back observing this conversation given your inclination toward the Colts and Peyton Manning I find it strange that you could call those opposing your POV biased given the lengths you've gone to admit opinion as fact.

Stop pretending to be a Pats fan. The red herring isn't working.

I have absolutely zero inclination towards the Colts or Manning. I only acknowledge that Manning is a great player. I can't imagine there's anyone that doesn't.

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

And if you compare their overall PLAYOFF numbers, this is what comes out to:

Manning:

5,389 yards, 29 TD, 19 interceptions, 63.1 completion %, 7.51 yards per attempt, 88.4 passer rating.

Brady:

4,407 yards, 30 TD, 16 interceptions, 62.2 completion %, 6.46 yards per attempt, 85.7 passer rating.

And to make it even funnier for, look at their 4th Quarter numbers in the playoffs:

Manning:

1189 yards, 6 TD, 5 int, 7.9 YPA, 86.8 passer rating

Brady:

1171 yards, 6 TD, 5 int, 6.4 YPA, 80.2 passer rating

Hilarious. Brady's the most overrated playoff performer in the league, and probably this decade. It makes no sense that a choker, compared to a playoff GOD, can have BETTER and MORE EFFICIENT NUMBERS when you line them up.

And Brady's yards per attempt (YPA) won't make it out of this unscathed either. Those 6.5 YPA's are Chad Pennington-eque. And even with his low risk throws while watching the defense do the majority of the work, he STILL has a lower completion percentage then Manning in the playoffs.

AND that doesn't even count the fact that Manning has played more playoff games on the road! When some of you are ready to retaliate with facts, let me know. This "Manning is a choker" garbage with nothing to back it up is really getting old around here.

I have looked into these numbers deeply in the past. For one thing, two of Manning's best games the Colts got up big early and he just kept running it up. Also, you never answered the fact that Manning's worst games are worse then Brady's and more numerous. Also, please explain Manning's conduct in Foxboro in Jan '04 and Jan '05. You know hysteria, finger pointing, general douche behavior, and his classic press conference. Fact is Brady is a steadier more successful playoff performer, just like in the regular season, Manning's ego is so huge he thinks he can make any throw and hsi team and his INT stats suffer for it, don't they?

Stop wasting space with your asinine posts that bring nothing to the argument. This thread is for the big boys.

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

Just because everybody else is rubbing your face in it doesn't make you objective, my friend.

You presented an illogical and foolish notion, so you got destroyed.

Get over it.

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

The only true unanimous MVP is Tom Brady.

Manning has 4 MVP's but a careful look (as I did in this thread a couple of weeks ago) shows that he deserved but two of them.

Meanwhile Brady has 2 SB MVP's to 1 for Manning.

Do please handicap Manning's shot at anymore MVP's in the regular or post season as well. I have it is as zero. However Brady would seem to have a good shot at 1 or more to come, perhaps you ought to wait that out.

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

You literally said that Manning only has two MVPs instead of four because YOU don't think he deserves two of them. That is so arrogant it's ridiculous.

And lol @ Phillip Rivers. You mean the Phillip Rivers that led his team to an 8-8 record? Yes they beat us in the first round that year, since the heavily flawed playoff system had an 8-8 team at home against a 12-4 team.

Drew Brees season in 2009 is so overrated. The only reason his stats look so good is because nobody took the amount of fumbles he lost into consideration.

2009:
Manning - 33 TD, 16 turnovers (0 fumbles lost)
Brees - 34 TD, 17 turnovers (6 fumbles lost)

Same differential. Manning also threw for 4500 yards and the Colts were 14-0 when he played the entire game. He also had the worst running game in the league along with a new head coach & offensive coordinator.

The Saints also led the league in takeaways in 2009. The Colts defense couldn't do that in a pop warner league.

What is all this Manning and Brees talk?

Revis, Chris Johnson, Aaron Rodgers, Philip Rivers, Patrick Willis, Ray Rice and David Harris were all better then Manning in 2009.

Manning didn't lead the Colts to a SB victory, in fact he threw away the chances of one, didn't he? Brady ever do that in an SB?

So you determined that Manning didn't actually get more MVP votes than the competition in two of those years? How did you manage that?

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

I can tell this forum is NOT used to being challenged with legitimate arguments. They parade and ride each others nuts whenever somebody makes a post saying Brady's better in anyway, even though those posts contain no factual or important information.

Well, your posts certainly haven't added legitimate arguments that haven't been seen here before.

If these posts contain no factual or important information, why are you posting? Bored, no life? Or you just want into this debate which you hold has no importance.

Joke
