17. Cameron Jordan DE Cal
Patriots need a DE that can set the edge and rush the passer. The Patriots take the best DE available on the board.

28. Mike Pouncey OC Florida
BB loves taking Gators. If the Patriots didnt take him now, the steelers would pick him up. He is listed as a OG, but would play OC in the Patriots offensive system.

33. Mark Ingram RB Alabama
I know I know, why are we taking a RB so early in the draft? Well Ingram is first round talent and we get him in the 2nd round then that is value.

60. Brooks Reed OLB Arizona
Reed amazingly fell this low and the Patriots decide to snatch him up. He is a Clay Matthews type OLB.

74. Clint Boling OG Georgia
Possibly Mankins replacement if Mankins doesnt resign.

92. James Brewer OT Indiana
Patriots need a replacement at either LT or RT. If Light moves to another team then I see Vollmer going to LT and Brewer going to RT.

125. Terrence Toliver WR LSU
Patriots need a tall WR than can stretch the field. They take a chance on Toliver.

I went by team needs. I used CBS Sports prospect rankings and NFL.com team needs. This draft we grabbed everything we needed: DE, OC, RB, OLB, OG, OT, WR.

I know for a fact Mike Pouncey will not be there at 28.

for me, a mock draft needs to have the guidelines of what players were available to pick or do an entire draft. When you throw player names out there, it makes kind of just skim over and think, nah..

BTW, I like CJ with our 1st pick!

Reed at #60? Amazing is right. I'd take that pipedream though.

Reed is dropping very fast in a lot of peoples mocks. Most mocks coming out have him as a third rounder. I love the kid but something is happening for alot of "in the know" people to be saying he's falling down mocks fast and getting draft day comparisons like Channing Crowder.

Remember Crowder was considered a 1st rounder but then was drafted in the third.

Crowder is also an idiot FWIW

Here's my 4 Rounder

1a Cam Jordan - DE - Interior pass rush
1b Nate Solder - T - A year under Scar then starting in 2012
2A Danny Watkins - G - Replaces S. Neal at RG
2b Jerrel Jernigan - WR - Adds speed to wr corps
3a Chris Carter - OLB - Might take him at 60
3b Greg Romeus - OLB/DE - Will be PUP/IR'd
4 Steven Ridley - RB - LSU - Good runner and plays spec teams

Love the first three, ambivalent on Jernigan (more smurfs, yay! ), like the last three.

I know for a fact Mike Pouncey will not be there at 28.

I will be very impressed if you actually know this for a fact. You must have some pretty sweet connections into an NFL front office.

I know two reporters but neither of them have 100 percent reliable info.

But i know from what they tell me Pouncey will not be there at 28. Some teams like him as a guard and some as a center. But ive heard and read that it looks like he will be taken before where his brother was taken and his brother was a better prospect than he was/is.

I've almost got my offensive board set vertically. Working on defense now. Hopefully I can complete it by early next week. I don't think anything more than a 33 player mock is in the cards this year.

That's cool. I'll take Jernigan at 60 for ya.

So, the same people who hyped him up after the Combine, are now projecting him where he was originally? And doing it with no new information. This is why mock drafts and people who use mock drafts as measures of a prospect's value and/or ability are as enlightening as a politician's hairstyle.

So I shouldn't have paid $400 for that insider access?

The hype is what cracks me up. NFL Draft Gurus and College Football Recruiting guys tell you everyone is a great player. Good for business. When people feel good about something. They might pay for more info. When they hear the truth. They don't like it. Think about the uproar when Nawrocki from Pro Football Weekly. He was criticized for commenting on a guy who; Stole a loptop in college, plagairized a paper/test, probably shopped his services to the highest bidder and said he considers himself an entertainer as much as a football player. Nawrocki didn't make any of that up. It's the truth. Yet, he was lambasted. He might be wrong. But, I appreciate his honesty. We really miss Joel Buschbaum. Not many straight talkers out there. I don't take anything ESPN says seriously.

Yet, I've also found Nawrocki to be one of the prime conduits for draft rumors. Which isn't to say his appraisal of Newton didn't carry a certain ring of truth (since it was his draft guide and not his reporting).

Stupid isnt it?

I become so angered because McShay i find does this the most and people love him.

I think he is the biggest hoax and honestly believe he steals information from people on the internet.

The best thing to do is watch player breakdown film yourself and then judge the player on what you see on field. Dont fall in love with numbers because numbers lie. Numbers cant tell you about how a player pulls up going over the middle when seeing a safety. Numbers cant replicate nerves or game time situations.

Which is why i love players who are projected in the 2nd and third rounds. These guys dont put up numbers but make plays all over the tape.

Cam Newton has been labeled anywhere from the top overall pick to the 25th pick without doing anything since the combine.

He's been kicked around as a top pick since before his season ended, I don't know what people see watching his games to rate him a first round value, but let'er buck (if it will push a Patriots' value down to #17)!
