First 7 Years...Brady vs Ben(merged)

Why is this argument even being talked about? TFB is TFB. Rapistberger is Rapistberger.

If there has to be a comparison, then it should be on head to head playing against each other. Then you leave out the rest of the 2 teams and the coaches.

Another silly media non-story. The sad part of it is that some fans think it really merits consideration.

After Super Bowl edit: Mute point!!!

Re: Big Ben is no Brady

He's not even a top 5 QB in the league, so glad we don't have to hear about him all off-season now.

Sadly, if the Steelers make another SB with him, all the Hall-of-Fame and "elite" QB talk will start again.

Then again, Tom has been pretty damned mediocre in his last three playoff games, with his high rating being 89, so in some ways, Tom is no Ben.

Seriously, maybe we should keep Tom's recent playoff history in some perspective. The guy has put up a total of two dominating performances since that awesome night in Jacksonville, and both came against the mediocre Jaguars. Two! In ten games.

Ben whiffed last night but Tommy has been whiffing in the post-season, too.

And we all love Tommy.

Stats......seriously, stats? Heard a commenter last night talk about a conversation he had with Big Ben, with Ben saying he would never win any type of QB rating comparison (or something to that effect). The guy does however, get it done. Not defending him, do really even like him. He is one tough SOB. Wearing a shoe on one foot that is two sizes too big and playing with a broken nose, not to mention he most likely has many bruised ribs from all the hits he's taken.
Not even top five? What does that mean. Because the top five are extremely......great. If he's not top five, he comes in at six. Again, I do not like the Steelers, nor care about Big Ben. But, give the QB his due.

Oh, but we do. Big Ben simply is no Tom Terriffic on any level, period.

Tom isn't perfect, which is apparently what some here demand and assume others are somehow closer to... Fact is he has set the standard by which the rest of them are now measured. And he's not remotely done yet...

When I read the article last night, it's didn't even dawn on me that the writer cherry-picked the argument (as a starter, 6 years for TB with BR having 7).

With all things being equal, TB owns this argument by a landslide- even if they use the first 6 years as a starter.

However, since 2005 Big Ben has TB beat

Not really. Being a quarterback is not solely about athleticism. And things like being suspended for being a complete and utter jacka** and not wearing a helmet when he had his accident count as part of the calculation in my book.

If you are measuring off the field issues, TB wins.

If you are measuring stats and overall dominance, TB wins.

If you are measuring them by SB victrories, Rapistberger wins.

Was anybody else thinking about what Brady would have done vs GBs injury plagued secondary last night?

Woodson and Shields out of the game. Nick Collins banged up.

The Steelers blew it.

Where did I even mention Brady? My response was to the piling on of a losing superbowl qb. The guy throws a brilliant pass to a MVP reciever to win a Superbowl and he's GOD. Now, that reciever gets in trouble and traded while Big Ben doesn't make a comeback and he is no longer any good? Not even in one of the five best someone states. Well actually, Brees wasn't really that great this year either. Rivers is terrifice, with no rings, Peyton is Peyton and Tom is Tom. That leaves Rogers, who is today's king.

Ben didnt get it done last night and committed the cardinal sin for QBs in a Super Bowl throwing the pick 6.

And, take a closer look at those stats. Ben totally sucked in his first SB win. 9-21, 0 TD, 2 INT, 123 YDS

BFD? Brady was playing with a broken foot.

Do you think that he hasnt been banged up in SBs with all the hits he has absorbed over the years?

WTF? Please re-read all my posts. I never mention Tom Brady. If you would like to argue with someone, I am sure you can actually find some actual print.
I'll repeat: Ben is a tough SOB (Yes/NO). Ben said he'll never win any stat contest. Ben is one of the six best qb's in the NFL (Yes/No). I really do not like the guy, and do not like the Steelers, but at least I'm not a homer.
