There is NO comparison between Tate and Chad "I'm hurt" Jackson, OR,
Bethel "I can only run straight-down-the-field" Johnson.

I agree, but for different reasons. Chad had major maturity issues. Bethel kept ending up in the coach's doghouse and whined to the press that he "didn't know why." Meanwhile Tate earned lots of praise from teammates and coaches in camp for his off-season work.

He's still a work in progress, but I'm optimistic.

I am surprised this seems to have slipped under the radar, it could be huge for us down the stretch to have Edelman as an effective punt returner. I loved the way he threw the ball at the end of the TD return that was called back. Looked like a hell of lot of pent up frustration to me.

Edelman is a real competitor. He and Chung are always playing after the whistle, even in training camp. It was something to watch when they were playing against each other- neither of them wanted to give any ground, even if it was just fundamental drills. Both of them are usually way ahead in suicide sprints.

I'm thinking Edelman is a victim of a combination of a sophomore slump this year combined with better depth in front of him in the receiving corps (Hernandez and Welker). He's been doing an outstanding job on the punt return team as of late, though.
