OT: Lions fear Stafford is done for the year

The Lions have just pulled an ace out of their sleeve; their prayers have been answered, and Detroit has been bailed out at QB:

The Lions claimed rookie quarterback Zac Robinson off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.

Robinson was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round (250th overall) of the 2010 draft. He signed a four-year contract but was waived by the Patriots during final cuts.

He was signed to the Seahawks practice squad and was activated to the 53-man roster this past weekend against the Giants as an emergency backup.

The Seahawks probably hoped to snatch him back up to their practice squad if he cleared waivers, but the Lions claimed him instead.

He wasnt even tackled. Stafford hurt himself scrambling for a few yards.

The first separation had to have something to do with this injury.

The most concerning part about this injury is how unremarkable the insult was to his shoulder. Slowly fell down to the ground without anybody on top of him.

That's a good point. It's no wonder that the average career span of an NFL player is 3.5 years; it can end any day on the practice field or in a game. Look at the injury Wes suffered last year; there was no contact...he just pivoted and his foot caught on the playing surface. We're lucky he made such a great recovery.

Colt McCoy is actually pretty good though.

There was some talk during the broadcast that the Browns are actively scouting Jake Locker.
Colt McCoy is much, much better that Jake Locker will ever be. Browns fans should hope that they won't draft this underachiever next April.
