Brady has been good this season but hasn't looked very much like the Tom Brady we used to know and love. He hasn't passed for as many yards or TD's as we thought he would so far and he hasn't really dominated any games this year. Tom played pretty bad vs the browns, there is no doubt about that. But it wasn't just Brady, the whole team just looked out of sync.

I think that he goes into the game next Sunday determined to win after that horrendous loss in Cleveland. Something is telling me that even against the great Steeler's Defense he has one of his best games yet. This whole team has showed that they have the ability to improve and learn form their mistakes and we all know that Bill isn't going to go easy on them this week. No, I am not on drugs.

As long as BB roams the sidelines and TFB is taking snaps under center, I think the Pats can win any game. The Steelers have vulnerabilities, just like any other team, and I think the Pats can play them pretty tough. Six more days...plus an afternoon.

For all the talk about Brady's season to date, in 3 of the first 4 games he had passer ratings of 121, 142 & 107 with completion percentages of 72, 78, & 79.

Including the Jets debacle, through 4 games - he projected to 36 TDs and 8 INTs, with 70% completion percentage.

Those numbers are just absurd, and excluding the TDs, are better than 2007.

So, essentially, Tom Brady is looking for a post-Moss breakout game, b/c he already had 3 elite passing games this season. The diminished yardage coincided with fewer possessions for him and the offense for a variety of reasons.

How does he project to 36 TDs? Would he need to have 18 to date for this to be true?

The steelers dont have many holes.Their offensive line isnt great but we hardly get pressure.Their corners are suspect but they get pressure on the QB to not make that look as bad.Their LBs make plays.

I was referring to the first 4 games - sorry for the confusion. Since then, everything has dipped, tremendously.

I don't disagree, but he did go 19-36 (not a great percentage, but the Pats had about 6-7 drops), 224 yds, and 2 td, 0 int. If it wasn't for Gronk's fumble, he probably would have had a 3rd TD pass.

What's amazing about him is the level of expectation we have for him. He's on pace for the following stats:

3,652 yds
28 td
8 int
95.7 rating (which would be the 3rd best of his career)

Doesn't mean he had a good game in Cleveland. But what we expect out of him is insane.

i guess we have reached stage 3 of a fan's postloss stages after denial and disgust

in all seriousness, he needs to play better but so do the WR's where our depth with injuries to branch and wes not being 100 % is not going to help brady.

And just to follow up, here's his stats with Moss and without Moss:

With Moss: 85-122 (69.7%), 911 yds, 7.47 ypa, 9 td, 2 int
W/O Moss: 81-139 (58.3%), 915 yds, 6.58 ypa, 5 td, 2 int

So, as one would naturally expect, the stats are down since the Moss trade.

His production has lowered as the season has gone on but his stats still look good, I agree. The fact of the matter is that Tom Brady isn't putting up the large numbers that he's capable of putting up. He's also made a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes that you would expect from a QB like Mark Sanchez. I also don't think the loss of Randy Moss is that big of a deal, he can still put up the numbers because he is Tom Brady.

I will say he has always played well vs. Pittsburgh in the past it seems - especially when it matters most (throwing out the game that ended the 21 game streak....)

8 games in to the season, Tom Brady is on pace to:

Throw 28TDs (he's only thrown more than 28 once...)
Throw 8 INTs (he's only thrown under 12 (8) once...)
Complete 63.6% of his passes (as of today, he is 63.4% for his career)
Have, and lose 2 fumbles (he's averaged roughly 9 per season, losing roughly 4)
Throw for 3,652yds (his average is 3,845 per season)
Average 7 yards per completion (7.3 for his career as of now)
Win 12 games (he averages 12 wins a season)

Statistically, Brady is being Brady. Argueably even a little better.
It might not look pretty, but I have faith Brady will continue his steaks of never having less than the best record in the AFC-E and not missing the playoffs since 2002.

I remember Ben Watson was going to be the next Tony Gonzales after his 32 TD pace last year.

Too many fans are still hanging on to the 2007 offensive expectations. It's over, people. The sooner you guys embrace that fact, the quicker you can put the whiskey and bullets away.

Well I think people are more concerned about his yards. He hasn't even come close to a 300 yard game yet. I predict a win and a 300 yard, 3 TD game against the Colts. I'm not so optimistic about his performance this week, win or lose. I see another 200 yard, 1 or 2 TD game.

This is a perfect response. Those stats are fantastic and most teams without Manning and Brees would love a QB who puts up stats like that. Except for the 2007 season, those stats are very Brady-like. At this point, he has more than triple the amount of TD's-INT's and his third best QB rating. He's doing great with essentially 3 rookies (Hernandez, Gronk & Tate) and 3 hurt receivers (Welker, Edelman and Branch). I think we as Pat's fans are way too spoiled.

I wouldn't count on it this week. It's much harder to run on the Steelers than Cleveland so you know the run game will be a non-factor. Brady's head is going to be served up on a silver platter. Couple that with the banged up WR core and to be honest I'll be happy enough if Brady can just make it out this game body intact.

James Harrison will have Matt light for lunch on Sunday

I would not be surprised to see Tom getting sacked 5 or more times in this game...it's going to be ugly

Tom could have a great game and it won't matter if Ward and co. Have their way....and oh by the way,Mendenhall is better than Hillis

What are you talking about? The Steelers have plenty of holes and you can start with their aging defense.

**** I'm sick of this fanbase at times. From week to week the same people are blowing up how amazing this young side is doing and after a loss the same people are blowing I knew this team would be exposed. It's football. Good mature sides get blown up at times.

Spoilt brats I kid you not.

I agree with the OP. We go into Pittsburgh, and find a way to beat the Steelers.

I also think tonight's game will be very close, and surprisingly physical.
