Im indifferent now on how and if I want Moss back... I think there are some more dumb teams and owners out there that will take a chance on Moss.. Im fine with that as long as we dont play him again...

Then I think about having Moss back for the last nine games, and that opens up wes, and Arron Hernandez, and also with Deion... Wow...

Then we have played like we have played before Moss got here, and Tate is improving... So why bring him back

Then again Wes has not been the same, Tate is still young... the offense has struggled in the pass game a bit...

Who knows I do know this season so far has exceeded my expectations, I did not think after this sunday that we would be 7-1 , basically if we go 5-3 the last few weeks of the season 12-4 is a solid year for this team in a so called rebuilding year.. But with Mankins back , and a year that there is no clear cut fav.. Moss coming back for one last chance at a ring could be worth it.. Some thing tells me though we wont take him, and i would be fine with that to... Its just been a fun season so far, keep the train running...

I dont understand how people add up that we got rid of Moss because BB felt we were better without him, that the Vikings also got rid of him because they are better without him, and add that up to we would want him back, and it would be a good thing. Ironically you say other teams would be dumb to take a chance on him but think he is the missing piece of the puzzle here, after we already crossed that bridge.

Because he *hopefully* has been humbled by this whole experience and learned a lesson. He *hopefully* realized that sometimes it's better to just live in the moment than to worry about the future.

Well, should Moss clear waivers, we'll all know how BB feels about having Moss on his team based on whether or not he pursues him.

But I dont understand.
When we traded him no one would accept that he was a problem, it was just that BB woke up one day and didnt want a deep threat any more/
Now everyone is screaming from the rooftops that it will be better this time because he learned his lesson??
Which is it?
BTW, I'm not directing this at you or your opinions, just the general consensus of the board.

If he had done to the Pats what he did to Minn., he would have been run out of here, too.

Moss is/was/always will be the Manny of the NFL. Amazing talents, inconsistent emotional maturity. Needs to be handled with kid gloves.

I have always believed that Brady "handled" Moss in such a way to try to get the most out of him, without having him lose it.

The Pats traded him for a number of reasons, including value. I think we can all agree one other reason was Moss's emotional makeup and potential to damage a young team.

Moss showed his flakiness and immaturity several times with the Pats (eg his contract rant week 1). He showed it in spades apparently last week on several occasions, if you believe the food rant. In any case, his post game presser was BAD.

With a Pats team on the ascension, I would be REALLY surprised if BB wanted to roll the dice on Moss now AT ANY PRICE. Why mess with a good thing that is getting better? Moss could take us to even better I suppose, but he could also take us to worse.

(and part of the worry has to be that TB seemed overly focused on Moss during crunch times.)

ERGO - Moss will not be back IMHO (guessing BB's thinking)

Thoughts?

Ever since last years' locker room lawyers were extracted from the team, BB has renewed his philosophy of "football first". When a distraction to the team exists, eliminate it. Moss going public about contract issues became a team distraction. With media subjecting players and management to "All Moss All the Time" questioning, this forces the organization too devote time dealing with nonfootball issues. Eliminate the source of the problem and the team can resume 100% focus on their jobs.
NO WAY BB would allow Moss back on this team to resume this soap opera. Players need to worry about their jobs, not a diva's mental breakdown. Been there, done that!

I've only seen the -haters- decide that BB felt we were better without him. He wasn't cut so the only thing you know BB determined is that the Patriots are better off (in the future) with a 3rd round pick than 1 year of Moss in 2010. I'd say it's likely that BB would take Moss at a price of free without thinking twice. Even Heath Evans labeled it a BUSINESS decision.

That all being said, there's no way Moss plays for the Patriots again in 2010. He will NOT clear waivers and even if he did, I think it might be a bit of a headache listening to all the conspiracy theorists and accusations of cheating for the rest of the season.

if he clears waivers Belichcik would do it for a deal... but they wont put a claim on him.. like i said let him go to st louis or seattle.. just not miami or the jets.. But either or we will be fine, this young team is starting to be special... but as i said with no clear cut team as the best out there, bring him on board for nine games and see what happens...

Moss makes the patriots a better team.

Why? Randy Moss + Tom Brady = awesome

Randy Moss vs. Tom Brady = Tom 3, Randy 0. Last time a Randy Moss team got the best of the NEP was 2000.

You do realize that Tom Brady and Randy Moss don't go to lockerroom and play Madden to determine the winner right? What is the deal with people using TEAM wins to analyze individual performance/impact.

I just learned that Moss is getting a brain transplant from David Patten in anticipation of rejoining the Patriots. He's already practicing crossing patterns over the middle. :singing:

Moss makes the patriots a better team.

this is debatable. note emotional maturity, potential for disruption, declining skills, Brady tendency to get Moss tunnel vision......

Moss seemed to want a high value. long-term contract and the Pats were not going to give it to him (some concept of financial security, which is odd given the fact he apparently has made plenty of coin over his career). If that is the case, maybe he is prepared to take whatever long-term deal the Pats might offer him to be on a winning organization. If it is otherwise, I don't see how this situation is any different than it was before he was traded.

If Belichick unloaded him to create a more balanced offense, then he is no longer a fit with the Pats and his availability would be irrelevant.

Would I like to see Moss return if he wasn't demanding the ball and sulking over an expensive, long-term deal? Absolutely. Will it happen? Probably not as one of the other 31 teams will grab him off the waiver wire in a heartbeat. If he returned at all, it would be next season.

Yea I agree. The Pats may/may not be a better team, but have proven that they can win games without him and without him performing at a high-level.

I think your omitting some circumstances there. BB said he was doing the best thing for the football team by letting moss go.. and getting a 3rd rounder. It's not like he cut him. Minnisota cut him because the head coach had his ego bruised... everyone slse said they wanted him there.

If we can claim randy back in FA for small $ and let min pay his salary. I will be all for it what do u really have to lose? His team mates have all defended him and said they love him and he came out and publicaly stated he oves an misses this team. I can't ask for anythin more from a player off the field

They've proven they can win games without Brady too, so you aren't really saying anything here...
