Not at all, I was told to know my place, not sure what place that is, I was responding to rhetoric with the facts, sorry that doesn't appease you.
Gholston has been a monumental bust, but wasn't selected under the Jets current regime. Sure, the Jets have one, we can list many for the Pats.
The Jets drafts' other than Gholston have been VERY successful, the core of their team are because of their draft decisions, Sanchez, Ferguson, Mangold, Revis, Harris, Keller, Greene, Cotchery, to name several, and to make an assessment on this past year's draft at this point, is beyond moronic.

McCourty is playing because the Pats have nothing better
The Pats are horrible in pass defense, ranking 30th in the league
McCourty and Wilson have had their share of rookie growing pains, both have made some plays.
McCourty continues to start because he has to, and has probably been able to settle in with the forced playing time.
Wilson has played several different roles, moving to the starting line-up, nickelback, dimeback, in a multitude of ways due to Revis holdout in training camp, and then his hamstring injury in the first several weeks, he's never and opportunity to settle into a role. Fortunately, for the Jets, and for Wilson, he can take a step back and settle into a role with a healthy Revis back, Cromartie playing like a #1 CB, and Drew Coleman having a career year, helps to have talent and depth.
The Pats DO have a poor draft history, McCourty doesn't change that, but he can at least help to change that reputation for the future, but that remains to be seen.
It seems Pats fans are more interested in justifying negative banter about the Pats draft history, and constantly comparing the picks the Pats make with the Jets draft picks.

Why are Pats fans so insecure, considering their success? Oh yeah, that has been tainted as well...
If you say the Gholsten pick was the result of an old regime, then you can't praise the picks of Ferguson, Mangold, Revis, Harris because they were drafted by the same "old regime".
Both McCourty and Wilson have experienced some of the same growing pains like most rookies, some grow through them (McCourty) and some regress (Wilson).
So the Jets have the luxary to bury Wilson on the roster and shatter his confidence by having Rex Ryan call him out in the media? Seriously, you are such a homer that you refuse to even listen to your own coach who says that Wilson is losing playing time for performance not because he is so top heavy. He said Wilson is not making the most of his opportunities.
The Pats had a string of 2 or maybe three years of drafting poorly. Many teams go through that type of stretch. The Jets look like they might going through it now. The Pats look to have a spectacular 2010 draft and a pretty good 2009.
Gholston was part of the past regime?!? So Tanenbaum wasn't GM in 2008? So as pointed out by another poster, Mangini deserves sole credit for Mangold, Harris, Revis, Ferguson, etc. all of whom were drafted prior to Gholston on the past regime? The "current regime" has only been around the last two drafts and so far those drafts are mixed at best. Sanchez has shown flashes of greatness, but is very inconsistent and has yet to show he is going to be the franchise QB worth the 5th overall pick. The 2010 Jets draft class so far has been a failure with only John Conner looking like a good pick so far.
RayRay, you clearly refuse to ever admit anything wrong about your team. Saying that Gholston is part of the past regime in one sentence and then giving this regime credit from the past regime successes like Mangold, Revis, Harrris, and Cotchery (all drafted years before Gholston) shows how twisted your logic truly is.
McCourty was a beast today. Unfortunately despite playing fantastically, the rookie wall awaits in his future. The way things look right now the team could be playing well into the postseason. Should BB try something radical and let him rest for a week against Clevelands craptacular passing attack? It would also help get Butler some playing time.
I don't think any other CB in the NFL could have played a heck of a lot better than McCourty did today. Not saying McCourty is in the elite class (he still has a long way to go), but for this game he played like an elite or near elite CB.
You are right on the money here - just think, that statement can be made in only his second game.
That was an elite performance from McCourty. That was an elite performance from a rookie corner in his 7th pro game.I don't think any other CB in the NFL could have played a heck of a lot better than McCourty did today. Damn I can't wait to see Bodden and McCourty opposite one another.
