San Diego is going to be rough

Breaking news: all games away in the NFL are rough games.

I was drinkin kool aid and reading the speech. See the fill in the blanks?

I made my point after I came out of bb mode.

Even BB would have trouble saying that they have a good special teams unit with a straight face. It will be more along the lines of,
"They've got a great punt and kickoff returner in Sproles. We've seen what he can do against us."

I don't want to jinx the team, but it looks like Gates won't play on Sunday and Floyd may not either. Thos two receivers account for half of Rivers' passing yards and all but two of his TDs (not counting today). If those two aren't going, I don't think this will be that tough of a game. Granted in the NFL it is a case of any given Sunday and the Pats are coming off an overtime win against what many think is the best team in the NFL and traveling to the West Coast.

Overall, the Pats schedule is looking a heck of a lot easier than it did before the season. Teams that were supposed to be elite like San Deigo, Minnesota, and even the Colts aren't playing that way.

It could go either way, either we'll be playing a desperate team with its back against the wall trying to claw its way out of the bottom of the nfl. Or we'll just be playing an awful team and have an easy time of it. I'm certainly not sleeping on them.

Anybody else going to the game on sunday???? Can't wait. Leave for SD on Thursday

it ll be hard for sure, but everygame its hard right now our schedule is a nightmare. we could be like 5-0 and almost 13-14 wins for sure in the Cassel year , that calendar was absurd lol

SD is 2-0 at home and 0-4 on road...much different team at home..its going to be tough.i just hope gates cant go..he kills us

They beat the Jags and Cardinals. Not exactly two powerhouses. Antonio Gates had 144 yards and two TDs against the Cards. Odds are he won't have a single catch against the Pats since he probably doesn't play.

You can't look past anyone especially the Chargers who have turned it on after a slow start several years in the last five years, but with the injuries they have had and how they have played they are not a team on the Pats' schedule right now that really scares me.

Everygame gets a little harder. With the Chargers coming off 2 straight loses to much inferior opponents, and with us having to travel after playing a very physical 5 quarter game is going to be tough. The chargers are desperate and we have struggled in the past going to the west coast.

Thoughts
Hey, the Cowboys were desperate today. And they still sucked. This game is looking easier than during the preseason.

If the Chargers weren't maxed out desperate with their backs against a wall today, then they'll never be.

Actually 2/3. Their offense is second to none and their defense is top three but special teams have killed them. They have had three punts blocked, 3 kickoffs returned for TDs and numerous other long returns against them. That said, I see a tough game like today.

Heck, Football Outsiders literally compared their STs to herpes. :singing:

I'm worried about the game. Rivers is a great QB and our defense has made QBs like Sanchez and Fitzpatrick look like all-pros.

Can we enjoy the sports center highlights, and other such love of this win for a day or two before we start talking about the Chargers?

Rivers can't do any better than Flacco did today. And we still beat him.

Thanks, I just spit the coffee on the keyboard.........
I'm sure Mssrs. Tate and Chung are watching film and checking their watches waiting for next Sunday.......

Young and inexperienced team on the road after a big win? Could be a tough game. My guess is it will be tough one but hopefully the vets keep the young guys focused and we pull it out.

If Gates and Floyd don't play I can't see the Chargers putting up any resistance at all. Gates is simply that important to the whale's vagina.

I feel good about the game, but I don't think it's going to be "easy"

We have to travel to the West Coast, the Chargers while 2-4 have both of their wins at home, also they're desperate so that old "Wounded animal" line comes to mind.

Norv Turner vs Bill Belichek=another win for the Pats. I don't care where they play the results will be the same. Brady will exploit San Diego's problems on defense and win big.
