saints in nfc
Right now it's the Ravens, then it will be whomever we play after them. I want us to get a good start in the post-Moss era, so we see headlines like, "The Pats prove you can dump Randy Moss and Still Keep Rolling!" rather than "Did the Pats make the biggest mistake of 2010?"
Get ready to see plenty of the latter if we lose to the Ravens. If we end up losing, I'm not viewing the forum for at least a week afterward. It will be Spygate level unbearable around here.

Moss has played as a Patriot against the Ravens 3 times and was nothing more than a decoy with mediocre stats of 34,50 and 48 yards
I am certain the Ravens defense would contain Moss as usual and the Ravens defense looks BETTER overall than the previous years Moss played against them.
Moss would have had the decoy factor but I hardly think anything more.
Oh, I wasn't suggesting that not having Moss will be the reason we lose, if we do. To me, that will be on either the defense not being able to contain the run, and/or the O-line being unable to keep Brady upright. We're not going to be able to run on Baltimore, so the short passing game (hello TEs) will have to be clicking on all cylinders. While the Baltimore D may be better (not sure about that, but they don't seem any worse), we also did not have our three headed TE monster last year.
But, if we lose, the media will point to getting rid of Moss as the reason, even if people point out these stats as you have. And that, I will not be able to stand reading about, here and elsewhere.
The Ravens. I look for them to kick the absolute dog**** out of us come gameday.
Yep. I'm expecting for us to get beaten pretty decisively. Ravens are solid in pretty much all phases of the game. Us? Not so much. But who knows? It certainly wouldn't be the first time that this team has surprised me.

You never know, Flacco might have another one of those random 4 INT games that he's so fond of. If not, though, I pretty much agree with you. Don't think our defense is good enough to get the stops we need, doubt we can hang with them.
Jeez, guys, have some faith. Did you all pick Miami to win? While this game worries me, I am looking forward to whether the Pats can successfully reinstate the "dink and dunk and 8 minute drive" game plans that made us famous in 2001, 2003 and 2004. We'll have had 2 weeks to prepare for this one when the coaching staff knew Moss wasn't going to be here, and our D and special teams have started to make some plays. I say we squeak out a win in this one. Who's with me?
