Agreed. I've seen O-line franchise estimates from $9 - $11 million for next season. Mankins will make $1.5 this season, bringing his 2 year haul into the $10 - $12 million range.
Further, prepare for the CBA to have different franchise numbers for OG than OT. The defensive lineman franchise numbers for tackles and ends are already seperate.

I do not think he will be franchised . Mankins if franchised does not need to sign the contract till the start of game one.
so all he had to do is miss all camps and pratices get a little out of shape and report or better still fake an injury and get the 11 million for sitting out.
