We've got Gronk too you know.
I'm trying to make sense of it all at the moment. Then they re-sign Ojinaka and the only thing that makes sense now is Hernandez becoming a full blown wide receiver.
Like Edelman has been injured, Price hasn't even got a rep yet. So who else is there?
Point being....?
Gronk is a beast who can catch balls and we have Crumpler too. Its not like the team loses much by switching him out wide imo.

Hernandez against CBs is a pretty significant mismatch in its own right, if that's the way we take it. It also makes his shortcomings as a blocker a lot less relevant. I doubt a wholesale change will be made, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him worked into a more WR-esque role in some capacity, ala Dallas Clark. It would certainly make outside runs to his side of the field interesting to see.
I agree, but I don't think they're going to make him a pure wideout. I'm sure they'll have him all over the field so it's basically semantics, but it seems likely, as you say, that he'll be used in a Dallas Clark-esque capacity.

Hernandez is what he is, an H Back. He runs decent routes, has decent hands and is above average getting YAC.
As a blocker he is a cream puff. But as a receiver in the middle of the field, he is money. The rub is that as long as the Pats WR's can clear a zone of defenders, Hernandez can do a lot of damage on drag routes through the cleared zones. The problem is Moss was great at it and now he is gone.
Unfortunately Hernandez is about to learn why NFL safeties are called headhunters. With no Moss, the safeties can cheat up and not fear the deep ball. Landry or Ed Reed gets first crack taking Hernandez apart. Ouch!
I went to school with Aaron. He has played TE all his life, what sense does it make to attempt to convert at this point?
