CHFF:Trading Moss doesn't make Patriots better, but then again ..

And not only that but I take Branch, Brown, Givens and Patten over Welker, Tate and Hernandez.

True - but what does the defense have to do with per catch average yards by offense? What does the defense have to do with average points per offense besides helping the field position (where punting from....and punt coverage).....I mean, yah, they had a great d that led to SB victories.....it sure wasn't an offensive jauggernaut. Which is why I shake my head at everyone that thought that the offense could carry the defense all the way to the end. It has never done that before.

well..they could and did win games with scores like 10-9, 12-10, 16-14 etc...so if you can defend well then the offense doesnt have to score 30 pts ..right now we are raw at both ends.

lol... Moss had two legitimate chances to win the Super Bowl in NE. Since he didn't win one, he must be a big liability, right? People are so stupid. He should have won it in '07, and if the defense had stopped the Giants we'd be talking about putting him in the Pats HOF right now. In '08 Brady was hurt and Moss turned Cassell into Brady Jr. It's really Moss' fault that Brady's knee got blown out and the Pats missed the playoffs with 11 wins. Last year the team melted down in the playoffs.

Moss made them a better Super Bowl contender. Just like A-Rod has always given the Yankees a better chance to win the World Series. Up until last year dumb people like Kerry Byrne would have written their marvelously stupid articles about the same thing. After a player wins, which is usually the result of good timing and all-around team excellence, he's suddenly a champion who can do no wrong.

They lose Moss and suddently they are raw? The offense is light years ahead of the defense, with or without Moss. Call me nuts, but I am not that worried about the offense. More curious than anything else, actually. The defense worries the sh8t out of me. They can't contain the outside, they get burned almost everytime they blitz, the middle of the field is a complete mess and I have no faith in the db's. Did I miss anything?

actually if this move was made in the offseason with all the practices and workouts focused with the current players the offense wouldnt be an issue. right now after moss practiced everyday with brady last few months and 4 games into the season, they suddenly have to switch modes to play without him will be an adjustment . As you said , if we had a tough D we could allow some time for the offense to figure itself out but right now both ends have some learning curve even though offense is still better than the D.

Huh?

Moss had 9 catches this year. If you believe your statements then you have to believe the offensive production is simply a product of Moss' double teams and clear outs.

Obviously, this wasn't done in a vacuum and the staff has to have a good feel for what Tate, Edelman, Hernandez, and Gronk can do. We also don't know if any deals are in the works or where the coaching staff feels the defense is.

My thoughts exactly. While I miss him in this team, I think it is good for the team in the long term to be without him.

In '08 Brady was hurt and Moss turned Cassell into Brady Jr. It's really Moss' fault that Brady's knee got blown out and the Pats missed the playoffs with 11 wins.

Would you believe that Brady's knee was taken out while he was holding on to the ball waiting for Moss to get deep? Not to mention the fact that Moss fumbled that catch!!

Brady's knee was taken out because Morris didn't hold his block.

Please, shut up.
