Does anybody know where I can find Brady's 4th qtr QB rating broken out by year? I'm not sure if it is just my cynicism, or if Brady really has been coming up very short in 4th quarters in recent years. I would like to see what the actual numbers show. Sadly, it seems I now find myself watiing for the 4th qtr blunder (fumble, interception) where I used to fully expect him to make the play. I have no idea if my pessimism is justified or if the numbers validate my worries. I'm sure his 2007 4th qtr numbers were good, but there was very little need to make plays in the 4th that season. Those games were mostly in hand my then.

so far this season, 77.3 in the 4th and 32.4 in the third. Compared to a 113.7 and 123 in the 1st and 2nd respectively.

Super Bowl 42
Losing 10-7

Start: Own 20 yard line (07:54 remaining)
Finish: 02:42 remaining

Completions: 9/11
Yards: 72
Result: TD (on 3rd down)

That drive to me was the most impressive drive of Tom Brady's entire career.

Needing a TD to take the lead, against a brutal Giants pass rush and he drives the team 80 yards down the field for a TD, one he threw against the pressure of 3rd down. Just an amazing drive. He then put the defense in a position to win the game, all they needed to do was not give up an 83 yard touchdown drive to Eli Manning. Sadly, they didn't do their part and Brady's drive is completely forgotten.

The thing on that splits list that scares me more is Brady's 7:7 TD: INT ratio in losses last season to his 21:6 ratio in wins

I thought last year he was very up and down even though he threw for over 4000 yards and 28 tds. That playoff game left a bad taste for this team.I hope they bounce back from it.

Not all of that is Brady, has to do with the team around him also.

What a strange stat. Not.

More turnovers = less chance of winning. :bricks:

But I never thought he was that much worse. That's a 1:1 ratio compared to a 3.5:1 ratio. That's crazy!

I guess you can skip 2008 as well since he didn't play in a 4th quarter that year. And of course he did in 2009 although returning from an ACL. I recall some heroics last season. Week 1 comes to mind. Of course, it's a team game and when you lose your best weapon early and late, and when your most talented weapon is dealing with issues, and when your running backs are all missing time and rookie WR is on IR and your TE's are so special they let them both walk this year... Ernie must have reams of data on Tommy falling off. Why else would they have extended him for 4 years at $72M with $48M guaranteed...

In 2004 his 4th quarter rating was 72.3...and that was with Charlie Weis as his coordinator and Josh McDaniels as his QB coach

Brady had 14 possessions in 2007 when he was on the road and tied/trailing in the 2nd half (Dallas, Indy, Baltimore, Giants). He accounted for 7 TD drives (incl. 6 TD passes) and 3 FG's with only 1 INT. The Pats won all 4 games (obviously).

Brady has had 14 possessions in 2009-2010 (not counting last-ditch drives) on the road while tied/trailing in the 2nd half (every true road game except Buffalo). He has accounted for ONE TD drive (in the Saints debacle), thrown ZERO TD's and committed SIX turnovers. The Pats have lost all 7 games.

This is the biggest disparity between pre- and post-injury Brady. Once he overcomes these struggles the Pats can be a solid contender. A little help on the defensive end would be good too
