Why does it seem as if he did not get much ink? He seems like a dynamic player.

One huge issue I see with Buffalo's pick is Spiller's turf toe; how stupid do you have to be to draft a guy with turf toe when you play on plastic? Frozen plastic for half the season.

The Bills probably drafted him too early, but they needed something to jump start that dead offense.

Spiller PLUS the combined annual output of Fitzpatrick and Nine Mile Point #1 and #2.

And a really, really long set of jumper cables.

Might do it.

I don't know how good Spiller can be with that poor offensive line and no passing game. I don't see any outstanding stats this season.

Buffalo is angling for the #1 pick next year. Spiller will make a few big plays that will appear on Sportscenter, but he's really not an impact player on a bad team.

Ya interesting observations. Probably correct....I hope....

However I seem to remember another lousy Bills team when they drafted a good running back named....yes...Simpson. I will never forgot what OJ did to the Patriots defense; shredded it again and again....hopefully Spiller is not that good.

OJ languished in mediocrity until the Bills got a new coach who threw out the playbook and installed only three plays: "OJ left; OJ right; and OJ up the middle".

Interesting choice of words when it comes to OJ. Shredded. Sliced Up. I agree with you - I hope Spiller is no OJ.

Spiller will be a challenge for our special teams. Hopefully he doesn't turn into another Leon Wasshington nightmare.

Spiller got lots of hype before the draft and he probably would be getting more attention now if he went to a different team. I don't think anyone cares about the Bills. They look hopeless on paper. Like Bucky said, they're angling for that #1 overall next year.

Spiller has sick acceleration. In the highlights he just walks away from DBs! Also excellent and shifty moves and he even has hands. The guy is a incredible. Remains to be seen what effect turf toe will have on him but he seems like the most dynamic guy in the draft.

I suspect that we will see a lot of Spiller verses Spikes. I cannot say I like that matchup even if Spikes has great instincts.

Spiller ran a 4.28 at the combine...just a tad slower than Chris Johnson's record time. Watch out! This guy is gonna be trouble and a lot of team are going to kicking themselves...

Do you have, ah, obsessive tendencies, Fred? Three posts in a row about a third down back and kick returner who plays on a terrible team?

I'd like to remind you that Chris Johnson, currently regarded as the best RB in the league, ran wild on us to no avail; the number 128 pales next to the numbers 59 - 0.

We've beat Buffalo double-digit times in a row. I'll start worrying when they have a QB, not a Kevin Faulk wannabe.

I resemble that remark. Let's revisit this conversation late in the season. It is true that no matter how good the RB is he is not going to do much without a good line. If I was the Bills I would be stocking up on road-grader (or Conrad Dobler) types and throw out the play book and install these three C.J Left; C.J. Right; and C.J. up the middle.

Oakland and Cleveland were idiotic to pass on this guy especially considering that they play on grass and Spiller has turf toe. A dubious choice by the Bill considering their surface.

You are hilarious. What is with this Spiller obsession? As to your post, Oakland and Cleveland would have looked almost as stupid as Buffalo if they took Spiller. Who cares if they play on grass or not? Oakland used the 4th overall pick on McFadden just 2 years ago. Cleveland had a very good running game last year. Instead of taking Spiller, both teams got great players who filled actual needs. Tampa Bay plays on grass too and they have a bigger need at RB than Cleveland or Oakland. Is your next post going to be about how stupid they are for passing on him at #3?

Having a bad day? No need to post a rude flame.

Let's revisit this at the end of the season (or in two seasons) and see just how valuable Spiller turns out to be.

Look at the 2007 draft and the dork picks ahead of Adrian Peterson such as surprise surprise Oakland (Russell); Tampa (Gains Freaking Adams); Cardinals (Levi Brown). And I think that Vikings already had a RB. Look all the picks before Chris Johnson in 2008.
