Injured his hamstring and will not participate in any of the combine workouts.

Bummer, there's several mocks out there with him going to NE in the 1st round.

I was really hoping he was going to have a terrible combine and slip to our first 2nd round pick! Methinks someone is protecting their draft stock?

Faking an injury doesn't really help you draft stock either

Could help us if this is the guy we want, get him in for a work out and see what we think. Still not sure we go pass rush first round

He only ran a 4.69 too. So, not being able to do more at the combine hurts his stock imo. He can make up for it at his pro day. But still, this might cause him to slip out of round 1.

disagree... If you find an ANIMAL who can pass rush..... go for him

we have 0 solid pass rushers

Who will have the best NFL career

* Suh
* Graham

I am sure everybody that does not live under a rock has heard every media outlet singing praises of Suh.

"Suh is the most dominating defensive player I have ever seen."

"Suh will be the No. 1 pick overall, and rightfully so."

Etc. Etc. Etc.

Well I bleed Maize and Blue. And we just so happen to have a defensive player by the name of Brandon Graham on our team that is entering the draft.

Considering I have never heard of a comparison between the two, I am taking the liberty of doing so. So let's get to it.

We will start off with Ndamukong Suh out of Nebraska.

Suh just completed his fifth year at Nebraska at the DT position. His last year there he has had staggering numbers all across the board.

2009

Games PLayed ------------- 14 (career 54)

Total Tackles -------------- 85 (career 214)

Tackles for a loss----------- 24 (career 57)

Sacks --------------------- 12 (career 24)

Interceptions-------------- 1 (career 4)

Forced Fumbles------------- 1 (career 3)

Hurries--------------------- 28 (career 41)

Blocked Kicks--------------- 3 (career 6)

Touchdowns---------------- 0 (career 2)

There is no doubt that Suh is a phenomenal player. He is a disruptive force on the D line and he is going to have one heck of a career in the NFL. But let's do a little comparison, shall we?

Brandon Graham is a fourth year senior out of Michigan. He played in all but four games in his collegiate career. So here is a look at his stats (previous year as well as career totals).

2009

Games Played-------------- 12 (career 46)

Total Tackles -------------- 64 (career 138)

Tackles for a loss ---------- 29 (career 63)

Sacks ----------------------11 (career 32)

Interceptions-------------- N/A (career N/A)

Forced Fumbles------------- 2 (career 8)

Hurries--------------------- 1 (career 3)

Blocked Kicks--------------- 2 (career 2)

Touchdowns---------------- 1 (career 1)

So to the average guy, Suh might ultimately seem like the better choice on paper. However, there is a few things to consider. Suh was a fifth year senior so he played in eight more games than Graham did to achieve his career totals. In eight fewer games Graham obtained eight more sacks and six more tackles for loss.

The other thing to consider is Suh had 4.5 sacks in his last collegiate game (against Texas)...which is a phenomenal feat to the naked eye, but a closer look shows that 4.5 sack game was against a Texas team that did not have a great offensive line.

Graham was dominant in the Senior Bowl. He achieved two sacks and a forced fumble and was named MVP.

So what does this tell us?

Well IMO, I think "The most dominant defensive player" title should be attached to Brandon Graham. All due respect to Suh.

I'm sorry but that comparison is ridiculous.
Suh plays DT and Graham plays DE/OLB.

It's NOT EVEN CLOSE.
What Suh has done is a LOT more impressive playing out of the DT position where he is going to face a lot more double teams and has to face the heart of the OL.
Whereas an OLB/DE like Graham is usually 1 on 1 vs an OT or TE.

Suh is a 300 lb athletic freak of nature. Graham is a 260 lb player.
I'd take Suh over Graham, every day and twice on Sundays.

Are you serious HarkDawg? The author even admits he's biased, "Well I bleed Maize and Blue." Plus Suh received a medical red shirt after playing only two games in his first year (in which he recorded only one tackle), something he failed to mention. Those stats are from four solid years, not five years of playing because that would be impossible anyways. The author also seems to ignore the fact that Suh accumulated those ridiculous stats as a defensive tackle, not a defensive end like Graham, a defensive tackle.

No more dud draft picks from Michigan anymore please unless its a QB

Hm . . . let's see, penetrating, pass-rushing DE vs. a 43 2-gap NT. Yeah, that's a fair comparison. Oh, and I like how Suh still has way more tackles and interceptions, not to mention almost 40 more hurries (FORTY!). This is ridiculous.

Just like Crable.

The Ohio State university is the place w/ the duds.

What's wrong w/ a biased POV?

Suh is no. 1 obviously.....

the writer was ooozing with Michigan passion

I had to post it

Jim Tressel is a loser

just sayin

This guy is screaming Vernon Gholston, minus the unreal workout at the combine.

Our back up is from Mich State he isn't too shabby either...

what is with the state of Michigan and QB's?? They go to Michigan to play.

Tom Brady

Is he balls.

The kid's had three very productive years, his best year coming with the team playing their worst football defensively for some time.

Gholston was a physical freak who could rush the passer, but was poor setting the edge and couldn't drop into coverage. He was inconsistent and was helped by the defense having some very good players other than him.

If you want a proper Gholston comparison - Jason Pierre-Paul.

Well ther once was this player ah um Woodley thats it Lamar Woodley.
OLB ACT 6'2" 265 Michigan....Graham does seem a lot like him.
