PFT: Moss looks to be at his New England crossroads

For the record, Curran's article is pretty good and very long and detailed. Florio is a hack, but he's quick.

They should be punished by having to wallpaper their homes with this picture...

I'm curious, though. Who was it that brought in Thomas and Burgess in the first place?

AD was all Pioli's fault, and the Burgess trade is obviously something that Pioli worked out before he left, and was maybe even a condition set in the Cassel trade.

There, I've successfully blamed every shortcoming that this team has on guys who are no longer here. Relax, homer lapdogs, your job has been done for you.

Reminds me of a quote that ray lewis said about AD. "The NE Patriots won 3 SB without you.We won 1 SB without you.

.....Ouchie.

iam not sure abt that.BB worked with AD extensively at the pro bowl.Just not pats material in the end.

Or they may not play at all. The general rule is you screw up and miss a day of practice, you don't play.

I'd be shocked if none of them play. But I've been shocked many many times before and I'm sure I'll be shocked many many more times.

PFT et al probably wrote this article back in 2007 and have been waiting for a chance to submit it ever since. Seriously, guys, the fact that a lot of you are lapping this crap up is pretty sad.

What sad is how blinded some fans have become.
I yearn for the days when all NE Sports fans could look at their teams and their players with some honesty instead of fawning puppy love.
As a Patriot fan I have ZERO loyalty to Randy Moss. Nice numbers but the team hasn't won jack with Moss and he's become an on-field distraction for our hall of fame QB. Do any of you EVER remember Tom Brady forcing the ball to one player and making the mistakes he has repeatedly in forcing things to Moss?? EVER??
TB lead this team to 3 SB's without Randy Moss or any receiver that he had to coddle and pacify. That last minute throw to Moss because his binky needed to get one over on Derrell Reves in the Jet game was pathetic and beneath the "old" Tom Brady. It was symptomatic of the "T.O. disease" Moss now brings to this team. The sooner Moss goes bye bye the sooner we get our hall of fame QB back.
I yearn for the days when Tom Brady's favorite receiver was the open receiver. Only won 3 Super Bowls with that attitude.

Members of the defense seeming to quit playing hard probably more so after the infamous 4th and 2 and lack of faith on the defense...It does hold some merit IMO

I think Belichick has bitten off more than he can chew in 2009,I can't believe this team is imploding but certainly hope it isn't - We shall see this weekend.

I thought last year when Brady went down he was at his crossroads

Burgess? Little impact on the field. Little apparent interest getting too emotionally invested in this team off it. Speaking to him after Sunday’s loss in Miami and then watching him shout over reporter’s heads to needle Brandon Meriweather, he just oozed ambivalence. He’d punched the clock for his four hours, he was all set.

Don’t get this backwards. This wasn’t Belichick firing a shot across the bow of these players. This was these players firing a shot across Belichick’s bow, intentionally or otherwise.

well putby curran.
I would send burgess home for the rest of the yr frankly.

Burgess is a free agent after this season. Maybe if nothing else he'll put in some effort for his next contract.

Thomas is most likely gone after this year. If no cba is worked out there's no cap to worry about, and if one is worked out it won't be as bad as a hit as it would have been if he was cut this year.

Moss has played hurt all year. I'm more concerned with his health and holding up for another season than anything else. Brady has said many times that he's one of the hardest workers on the team; everything else is the media trying to create a story.

sadly they are ripping moss on WEEI with this article. Our media will is going to make this more difficult than is

BB can do no wrong, and this is the fault of these players. Of course, BB brought in these players and let players the likes of Seymour go.

This is going to make the Homers go crazy. Hell, some of them will finally have to admit that Belichick made mistakes within the past year, and that could rock their worldview to its very foundations.

The guy has been a good soldier for the Pats and has done whatever the coaching staff has asked. He hasn't complained or cried or given up on the team and he leads the league in receiving. He was late for a meeting, big ****.

Even though Randy leads the league in yards, I still don't think we are getting the most out of him due to the playcalling. McDaniels had Moss going over the middle of the field, running crossing routes and slants in 07. This year, I feel like we are just using Moss as a deep guy. I want to see Moss used more on shorter and intermediate routes, rather than just exclusively as the deep guy.

People are blowing this out of proportion, calling him a dog and saying we haven't won anything with him. If not for the luckiest catch in the history of sports or Asante brick handing that easy INT or AD taking Manning down, we would've won a SB and been 19-0 with Randy Moss being one of the major keys to our success that season.

Blaming Moss for our shortcomings this year is ridiculous. He showed up and played like a man in that big showdown with Indy. On Sunday in the end zone, that was a terrible throw by Brady and I don't think Moss could have done anything else to break that up. Moss has tried on numerous occasions to break up passes this season, he even did so earlier in the Miami game but no one is talking about that. You also have to realize without Moss, Welker wouldn't be as dangerous of a weapon as he is right now. I cannot believe the amount of people that I have heard jump down Moss' throat. Since he's been here, he's pretty much done everything he's been asked to do and hasn't really been lazy at all IMO.

Yes, because Seymour was oozing with good attitude and leadership qualities.

Never happen. None of this is Belichick's fault.

As a side note I would cut Burgess and AD today.

Could you kindly list all the times Seymour disrupted the team?

Seymour's demand for a huge contract and "it's all about me,pay me very well or let me go" attitude in 2005 left a lot of bad taste in people's mouths that they never forgave him for.
