Per RealPatriots twitter.

Disappointing for Wheatley.

does that mean they are there, but unactive?.....

i mean...i c why we wouldnt need wheatley, but if one of the top 4 guys gets hurt then what?

b/c if this is an injury thing, than thats not good, not for whealtey again, and not for us

same goes for connolly

Wonder if Edelman will be on active roster..?

I can't say I liked the Wheatley pick, especially where he was taken. He had serious injury issues coming out of Arizona and it seems it's carrying over to the NFL.

yeah, Colorado. I knew it was one of them out there, Arizona, A State, Colorado...I just remember the workup on him post draft and thinking why take him that high.

he looked great in the game against Indy, then got injured Since then hes been non existent.....

Signing 2 starting CBs and using a high draft pick on another certainly doesn't help either. He may be a career dime back for the Pats.

He went to Colorado but he is an injury magnet. He may be in line for another redshirt year.

Maybe, but he's also our #5 CB right now, and I would expect only 4 CBs to be active most games.

And before people start cut Wheatly threads; he will cost .5 million more against the cap if he is cut. He's here for the next 3 years whether we like it or not.

Those four won't travel with the team, they are out for the game and will count against the inactive list.

Even with just the little we know about our other DBs, I'm willing to be patient with Wheatley. Some guys take longer to develop, some are injury-prone early and some are both. Hopefully he gets better and...well...GETS BETTER this season. In the meantime, Bodden, Springs, Wilhite and Butler will, we pray, cohere and make some plays.

To make it even more plain:

For away games, guys who clearly are going to be out with injuries commonly don't make the trip. And if they don't make the trip, then they have to be disclosed as out on the first injury report after the plane leaves.
