Are Law-Firm and McGowan playing their way onto this team?

I think the hilarity in those saying BJGE is a JAG because he gets yardage against fourth stringers is that those same people will blame the run blocking for Maroney not making big gains. LawFirm is playing behind a line made up of back-up's and future bank-clerks.

In live NFL action, BJGE did this:

BenJarvus Green-Ellis: Situational Stats

275 Yards, 5 TDs. He didn't suddenly disappear, he was benhced when the human bowling ball came back into action, I think around the Oakland game. That was probably a situation of getting their money's worth.

You can whine all you like, he's a real NFL RB and needs to see time against 1's before you can legitimately declare anything otherwise.

Jsn you keep forgetting you're new to the game. Bill doesn't play the contract. He puts the best players available on the field. He's never used Lawfirm unless he had no alternative...

It's right in the box that says "in five NFL games."

Care to hunt down Maroney's first five games?

78 attempts, 332 yards, 3 TDs. Avg. about 4.25 yards per carry all games splitting time with Cory Dillon.

Also, how many TD's did LoMo get in his two active years? Or are wins now determined solely by yardage?

12 TDs first two seasons in 27 games.

Right, so in each year he got 1 more TD than BJGE got in a handful of games.

Anyway, I'm just trying to debate the concept that Maroney is great because he COULD be. Guess we'll see where it all settles in a couple weeks.

Judging a running back by TDs is, at best, a crap shoot.

I agree. Going by that logic, Karim Abdul-Jabbar (not the basketball player) was one of the best running backs of the late 90's.

And at worst?

..may require a look at the scoring plays and drives to put them into perspective...1 yard TDs vs. 5, 10, 15, or more yard TD rushes.

Alright, well let's see. My latest Mock has 5 RB's anyway. But let's watch. I like all of the guys and would love to see BJGE in there as the #5.

I guess yesterdays stats aren't worth much in this league anyway, not for long, anyhow.
