When is Vollmer going to start?

I may have been the only one worrying about this as I haven't seen it brought up anywhere else on the forum. Honestly, I don't want to sound like a chicken little, but I hope that the hits that Brady took last night clear the butterflies out of his stomach. They (ESPN) did replays of the two longer throws he made last night (where he overthrew both Moss and Welker) and froze the screen on Brady to show how he was throwing. On both throws, he was standing flat footed - almost statue-esque - and putting a lot of air under the ball. Right after that, he got hit hard which he even said was a wish of his going into the preseason.

Now, I won't say that he did that on all of this throws. On the shorter or more intermediate passes he threw, he did step into them (one even being when a guy was around his knees again) so he is completing some of his passes while stepping all the way into the throw. However, I did notice the lack of it on the longer throws.

I don't know, maybe someone can come in here and see the same thing as I did. If none of you do, please feel free to call me a worry wart.

Seriously, our oline looks like a frickin turn style. Is there any chance Vollmer will start this year? If the Browns got to Brady last night, imagine what the giants are going to do - even there backup lineman are good. not only that, the skins have a good defense too.

No wonder Brady was having trouble.. he was facing 2 defenses at the same time.. (The Pats played the Bengals, not the Browns)...

Hello, they played the Bengals. And you shouldn't act like the Bengals have a bunch of nobodies on that team. Antwan Odom is a damn good DE..

Seriously, our oline looks like a frickin turn style. Is there any chance Vollmer will start this year? If the Browns got to Brady last night, imagine what the giants are going to do - even there backup lineman are good. not only that, the skins have a good defense too.

The line was not too bad as other posters have noted, and remember, the Bengals get paid to play defense as well. They might be among the worst teams in the league, but on an absolute level, the worst Bengals starter is still pretty damn good.

I thought Keith Rivers was better than Maualuga.

Just because he fits on the Bengals doesn't mean he'd be a good fit on the Patriots.

If he makes the Pro Bowl, it will be because the Bengals have no one else good going.. Maualuga didn't look that good. Especially when you take into consideration it was against the 3rd stringers..

As Jack said,Rivers was very good also and Rey was playing against Scrubs but call it a feeling that Rey will be good,In fact Rivers and Maualuga could be a dominant pair of LBs on this Bengals team for a long time...they are due to have a good defense since the Bengals have lacked one for 20 years and it may take a while, but the foundation certainly could be in place.
