WEEI.com: Notes From Monday AM Camp Session

I seem to recall the rookies got some face time in camp, but the closer to the season they got the more they were muzzled?

Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if they shut down Edelman sooner rather than later. He had a big crowd of reporters around him the other day, which drew some raised eyebrows from a group of veterans who were walking by at that very moment.

Did you stop to think, like Mike Reiss did and Rappaport didn't, that maybe the Pats are working him back in slowly?

Why over-react and get all bent out of shape over it?

maybe you should stop getting bent out of shape.......crable is not a prospect they need to be handling with kid gloves.........if he's not out there, its because hes hurt

Gee . . . whose fault would that be?

did you stop to think maybe I wasn't being that serious before you over-reacted.

I see O'Con's reported struggles not so much as a sophomore slump, but a guy being asked to do more within the offense and his mechanics and defensive reading skills haven't caught up to the everything running through his head. Walter was brought in to be a veteran presence and is taking his hard earned experience and is blossoming, how fast he picks up the offense is a question for deeper into camp, but it's nice to see another Raider cast-off doing well.

Thats the thing for me. BB might be throwing the kitchen sink at this kid and hes going through some fits and starts with the additional responsibility. But I wonder when it's just the coaches around and they are offering up their evaluations, they all may be saying, "yep, hes strugging with x,y and z, but overall if he keeps working like we know he can, he should be ok" .

My .02$

Right now, I'm not 100% convinced that Walter will still be here come the trade deadline, let alone Week 17, so I'll just say "It is what it is." After all, large swaths of the non-Foxboro population expected Cassel to get cut last season.

Including all Belize fans as well. Belichick sees what us the fans can't. I just hope the rookies continue to have a good camp and Pat the chung progression matches Mayo's from last year

Yea thats what I am thinking sometimes it's OK to struggle, because once you get through it you will ultimately get respect from the coaches and players.

I'll be the 1st to admit that I was concerned about cassel more than once. i thought that he had regressed. thats why I wonder if the coaching staff put in difficult plays just to push Cassel. I don't know but with how thorough this coaching staff is, I would not be suprised in the least.

As Troy Brown would say..."who put the damned cake on my chair?"
