Here's the list of absences from this morning:

DE Richard Seymour
CB Shawn Springs
TE Benjamin Watson
CB Jonathan Wilhite
LB Tedy Bruschi
DE Jarvis Green
DE Le Kevin Smith
DL Myron Pryor
OL Mark LeVoir
OL Ryan O'Callaghan
OL George Bussey

PUP
WR Brandon Tate
OL Rich Ohrnberger
DL Darryl Richard
DL Ty Warren
OLB Shawn Crable

(LB Tyrone McKenzie)

Concerns:
Seymour and Wilhite have now missed every practice since the first day, I believe.

On Day One, Wilhite was playing with the starting DB's. Now he has missed a significant amount of time - clearly as the result of an injury. The corner corps is pretty deep, but this is too bad.

Seymour has missed enough time now that he is clearly dealing with an injury as well - whether hamstring or something else. He probably doesn't need much camp to get ready, but he made a point of stating that this offseason he was in great shape and would benefit from a full training camp. Coupled with Warren on PUP, the Patriots have been forced to play Brace at end, and look at street free agents like Kevin Carter.

Crable has missed enough practices now on PUP that he will be set back on defense. He spent most of last season on IR or inactive, so he didn't gain much experience. Given the strong need for a decent pass rushing OLB, this injury is tough for the team.

The absence of Mark LeVoir and Ryan OCallaghan is a nice opportunity for Sebastian Vollmer. He'll get lots of playing time, accelerating his development.

The PUP status of Ohrnberger and Richard certainly slow their development. Both positions are deep, so the team is not really affected. The players' chances of contributing are less.

We haven't even completed a full week of camp. I am not worried at this point. Randy Moss missed a lot of time his first season here and didn't miss a stride when the regular season started. This is the time of the camp that the Pats will be overly cautious with injuries. Talk to me in a week or two.

The obvious concern is at DE. Wright and Steve Williams (who?) are the only one practicing.

NOT PRACTICING - Seymour, Green, Smith, Pryor
PUP: Warren, Richard

The rest seems like any normal camp.

Isn't Ninkovich, the guy who replaced Redd on the roster, a DE? Or is he strictly an OLB? The injuries may result in the possible expediting of Kevin Carter being signed too, if for no other reason than to have enough bodies available to man the position during training camp. This is also could be the main reason why Brace is reportedly being worked at DE.

He's a 3-4 OLB, 4-3 DE. Carter is a 3-4 DE.
