I just really got a look at this guy after he popped up at PFT.

Sounds like his Pro-Day was pretty good. Anyone followed this guy in college?

He sounds like he's got the goods for a 3-4 DE (Maybe a bit light?). Could a guy like this replace Seymour Butts next year, with some weight gain? The impressive power might offset the size limitations.

Maybe he could project to LB? Just found the info intriguing, anyway.

Per Aaron Wilson:

Johnson bench pressed 225 pounds a staggering 47 times, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com. It’s believed to be a record for an incoming NFL draft prospect, according to NFL Draft Scout.

The 6-foot-4, 281-pound defensive lineman ran the 40-yard dash in 5.07 and 5.1 seconds, had a 9-4 broad jump, a 4.61 time in the short shuttle and a 7.5 in the three-cone drill.

I mean, for all I know, he's Gholston pt. II, but how often does an epic bust like that come along, hehe...

47 reps of 225 :eek::eek:

That is 5 more then Long did last year at his pro day, and from what I read this kid is very smart.

I find he does not make many plays behind the line of scrimmage. While he is strong I think he lacks explosion and quickness needed to play D-Line and get to the QB. I think he is a late round prospect but with that strength someone will have to do some more homework on this guy.

Might be a fun OT conversion project... does that ever happen in the Big Leagues?

Only if you do not have the best roster going:D:D:D

You never know but at 47 reps you know you would not want this kid to get ahold of you. He should put 40 lbs on and become a roadgrader.

they can draft him to replace seymour right after they draft sean glennon to replace tom brady

eve for sarcasm thi is bad

I don't think it's that easy to put 40 lbs of muscle on. 40 lbs of flab yes, but that would make him a less effective player. It depends on what his frame is like. My main question is - how long are his arms? Because I've heard that guys with shorter arms tend to do better on the bench press workout.

Oh wait!!! I was kidding converting him or at least at not at the NFL level. UDFA would be the only way to go but you would have to look at how he moves before any team would try it. I played on both sides of the line and have seen many conversion projects but many do not work out. I really think this kids best shot would be to get better at D-line but this kid is very smart academiclly. I think they would have converted him in College if he showed he could be a prospect at OL.

Why not send he up here to Canada in the CFL for a few years to convert:D
