Sorry if this was posted and I missed it.

RealGM Football: Wiretap Archives: 2009 NFL Mock Draft, Version 6.0 (Early March)

Article excerpt:
Some random thoughts:

New England is positioned to make deals with four picks between 23 and 55. That assures that if they want a player, they will be able to maneuver to get him.

The Matt Cassel trade set the bar real low for other teams looking to trade prominent players and/or franchised players. That is bad news for teams like Carolina and Arizona, should they opt to try and deal Julius Peppers or Anquan Boldin. Note that the above random thought connects quite nicely with the Peppers portion of this one...

Draft picks:

23. New England Patriots: Connor Barwin, DE/OLB, Cincinnati.

Bill Belichick replaces Mike Vrabel with a guy who scouts almost unanimously compare to, well, Mike Vrabel. A converted TE who already generates consistent pressure despite being far from a finished product, Barwin’s attitude and versatility have him soaring up draft boards. He’s also an accomplished special teamer and this is a team that has paid Larry Izzo to strictly play special teams for a decade. If the Julius Peppers deal goes down, the Panthers would take the similar Larry English with this pick.

34. New England Patriots (from KC): Chris “Beanie” Wells, RB, Ohio State

48. New England Patriots (from SD): Andre Brown, RB, North Carolina State

55. New England Patriots: Max Unger, C/G, California

87. New England Patriots: Darcel McBath, S, Texas Tech

Um... hard to take this guy seriously with this mock. Two RB's? pfft.

If you believe Maroney is a bust and both Morris and Taylor are oft injured, AND that NE didn't have many major holes to fill, you might reach his conclusions...assuming he just didn't get confused trying to draft for 32 teams.

:yeahthat:

Doubling up on RBs just looks like a goof. Barwin, Unger & McBath are solid picks, though.

Does anyone believe Max Unger is still on the board at #58? All the talk I have seen on him is a very late 1st/low second.... Lotta love expressed here for Unger. I would be thrilled to get him with our#58

They're all just hoping he'll draw some Herman-esque cartoons for the game booklets whilst roaming around on the depth chart...

Now that's just silly.

The more I look at that mock draft the more I laugh out loud.

#23 English or Matthews
#34 Smith or best available corner
#47 Unger or Barwin maybe a trade up for either or.....
#58 Delmas or best available C/G

Course this all goes out the window depending how FA goes....

If that was our draft, I may take a long walk off a short bridge.

I would do cartwheels if we could get Unger at #58, especially because rumors persist that Pittsburgh is eye balling an interior OL guy at #32. Maybe they Mack instead, I hope so.

In some combination I am thinking Clay Mathews, Unger, A Smith, and Delmas on day 1.

On day two trade our 3rd and 7th for a 2010 2nd. Then take Brinkley with the with the comp pick.

If the Pats can finagle a 2010 2nd for the #89 pick, I'll do cartwheels.
