Taylor, Morris and Maroney are a fine running back threesome, with BJGE as an inactive backup. Faulk is clearly less important than last year.

Perhaps we will need to choose among three players for a 2-3 year future with the team: Faulk, Taylor or Lewis.

Please stop the Jason Taylor lunacy.

Go with the guy who has been a clutch player for us for 10 years over the big ego and the part-time dancer.

I couldn't of said it better myself :scream:

I am very confused why we have to chose between a RB and two LB?

I imagine the only reason could be money but I doubt they would have spent it on Fred Taylor if it meant they had to cut Faulk.

Go with what you know. And we know a lot about Faulk in here.

Funny thing -- whenever I think of Kevin Faulk, I think about him going for 8 yards. On third down, run or pass, he's good for 8 yards. I wonder if he holds the team record for 8-yard gains.

I like when the play call ends up with an LB covering Faulk. Good things happen. In fact, there's a "not small" list of killer plays he mad this year. My fave was snagging a tipped pass that wasn't intended for him.

In trying to find a picture of that, I found this one. It caused a bit of a

Its not an either/or in reality though. How about Faulk and Taylor?

Faulk is not less important this year. The guy is clutch, I've made the mistake in the past of thinking he was a function of the environment. Hells no, he is the unsung hero of this team. I like BJGE, but he doesn't even qualify as a "JAG" yet, he's a guy with "JAG" potential. Faulk is a game changer, defenses fear him on 3rd down.

Faulk is still the best receiving back on the team by far. I don't see how he's going to be less important this year. He's been one of the most valuable Patriots for years now. He's easily my pick.

why do you think they are mutually exclusive of eachother? i dont think we could afford Taylor or Lewis regardless of whether Faulk is on the team

I chose Jason Taylor cuz I don't see how Faulk isn't on the team this year. Therefore, it comes down to Ray Lewis versus Jason Taylor. I think JT is a better fit for the Patriots, when you consider the dollars, and years that would have to be committed to each. A better pass rush, which the Pats don't have, would help our mediocre secondary cover.

There is no one on the roster who can do what Kevin Faulk does.

Slam dunk. I truly marveled at Faulk's clutch play this past season, this guy seems to get better with age. He is an amazing blocker in the backfield, a solid runner, a great pass catcher with a real knack for moving moving the chains, consistently makes good decisons and is a great locker room guy.

Ask yourself one question; When you abosulutely need to convert on 3rd down, is there another rb in the league you're rather have back there than Faulk?

Comparing apples and oranges. It'd make more sense if comparing players of the same position.

I'd prefer Faulk's consistency and clutch play, but who's to say you can't have both him and one of the other linebackers?

this is weird.
no brainer that Kevin Faulk is THE MAN on third down.

the other two MIGHT be good additions.

is this a test of whether we have been paying attention over the past 5 years?

Next poll to follow... would you rather bang your wife/gf, Marissa Miller, or Scarlett Johanasson?
