He seems like the forgotten man around here recently - and in national mocks and such. I like what I've seen/read/heard of Barwin. Granted I've only seen him play once, but between the combine and scouting reports here and elsewhere, he seems like a very good Pats fit.
However, Sintim seems like a safer pick to me, and more worth the #23 if it came down to it. He has more experience, would be a quicker transition, and has proven he has the strength to play OLB or SILB for the Pats.
What's the downside with him? I know his 40 time isn't up there with Barwin and his pass rushing upside (despite his production) is not perceived on the same level as Brown, Maybin and the likes, but to me, he seems like probably the safest defensive pick the Pats could make, and the one most likely to reap benefits in 2009.
