It's supposedly been reported by Schefter on NFLN. What a shock.

If true, it may be good for both sides, depending on the terms. Vrabel can offer a lot of leadership to KC (especially if they do convert to a 3-4 defense, which seems a bit more likely if this is true), and may be able to play more of a role than he would with NE. If BB thought his skills were eroding, this gives him a gracious exit and frees up cap $$ and roster space for youth at OLB.

Hope we got #34 for him, or at least #67. Or Brandon Alberts.

And you guys thought Vrabel getting cut wasn't a realistic move? Obviously the Pats wanted the cap savings. And at least they got some value in return instead of a straight out cut! Well this just confirms what I was thinking all along -- Vrabel is not worth the cap hit. Any reports yet on what the Pats got in return? I'm guessing a mid round pick.

*Raises hand* I predicted an outright cut. I'm thrilled to get some value in return for losing his salary. Nice. This move helps both the Pats and KC. Pats get a pick rather than nothing, and KC gets a guy that Pioli is familiar with and thinks can help their team.
