Yes, I noticed that as well. My first thought was that there were obviously several Eagle players that weren't as invested in the game as the Cards players. I'm so glad that Arizona won!

Others were too, and this is what pisses Eagles fans off about Mcnabb... they just don't seem to "want it" as much as they should, and they just laugh it off when they lose.

Ummm...at least 3 posters stated that it was worth losing Samuel coz we signed Moss and Wilfork. Did I miss something? Last I knew Wilfork hasn't signed an extension and, although signed through 2009, is still a huge "if" for the Pats

We did not sign Asante becasue Bill does not think that ANY corner should get paid that type of money - It's really that simple.

He does not value the postition to a tune of almost $10mil a year. How much is it worth to Bill? Who knows.

It's got very little, to nothing, to do with Randy's contract.

I agree for the most part. I wouldn't rule out a player in the future that changes that. But it had nothing to do with Moss or Wilfork

I don't know that BB wouldn't pay a corner big money, just not one like Asante who has good ball skills, but just slightly above average physically. A stud corner with better size and speed than Asante might get BB to open the checkbook...

I posted this on another thread-when we played Zona back in Oct, we, especially Pacman, did a very good job in keeping Fitz in check(and this DESPITE Terrence Newman not playing).

There's no excuse for this supposedly *dominant* Philly D having a poor game, and you can't argue that Samuel sucked wind too.

The talk shows are ripping Asante this morning. They are angry at his play and his smiling and yucking it up with the Arizona players after the game. Philly fans are a rough bunch. He may have gotten away with that stuff in Boston, but in Philly, they will kill him.

When Asante plays north/south (and doesn't have to run deep very often), he can use his solid footwork, anticipation and ball skills to be a top corner. Make him run east/west and it can be painful to watch.

So Asante needs to be in a scheme that doesn't give him responsibility for slants or drag routes and he generally needs safety help over the top since he jumps out routes frequently. That is a pretty significant hole in his game. Philly actually is the right scheme for him as long as you don't think you are getting Champ Bailey.

By the way, you could say the same things about Law...especially in the later years.
