I just thought people would want a place to vent their concerns over the losses the team has sustained so, in honor of those who are less optimistic in these turbulent times, have at it:

Nah. We keep taking hits but Belichick won't let the ship sink. All aboard for 2009 . . .

I agree, but I thought it would be nice to give the "half-empty" members a thread of their own.

Did any of those guys survive the Pats missing the playoffs suicide pact?

This Dynasty has died so many times in the last 6 years I've lost count.

i dont know how anybody can be concerned....our defense is younger than it has been in years. we have a bunch of draft picks this year, possibly with maybe another first and third on the way for cassel. we have TOM BRADY coming back (presumably). we still have the best coach in the league. we went 11-5 this year without Brady, Adalius, Harrison, Maroney.

there has to be some hope that either Crable or Wheatley will turn into a very good player. wheatley was never knocked for his ability, only his proneness to injuries. and crable, when he played in the preseason, showed a striking similarity to George Martin because of his uncanny ability to make plays. both will be in their second full season learning the system, both are well rested.

nothing drastic is going to happen to our offense. maybe we will pick up a OL who will step in and start right away like Clady did for the Broncos this year with our first round draft choice.

if you ask me, yes, maybe the first dynasty is over. BUT, there is a chance that a second dynasty is set to begin. i mean, name 1 team in the AFC who you think is great? Dungy is out. The steelers are good, but we are just as good, if not better. The ravens are good, but they will likely lose Lewis or Suggs because they cant play both. Flacco is ok, but i am not overly impressed. our division is still way behind us. the dolphins surprised everyone this year, i dont see that happening again. the jets will be ok, but not great. who else?

Quick, all aboard the Colts band-

...The Giants!

Steelers still alive? Good. *waves towel*

One thing's for sure, the Pats are NEVER boring This will be interesting imo.

What Dynasty? Remember our 3 superbowls weren't impressive enough to be a dynasty, because we didn't blowed anybody out! The 'Boys were the "real dynasty". Then when we did start blowed teams out everyone cried...

Imagine that. For the third straight offseason, all eyes will be on Foxboro. . . .

"I likeded the script clubs" - Pacman Jones

"Matt Cassel could not win a game if he came in with the lead" - Marshall Faulk

Be prepared to hear this type of logic - Ok, the Pacman one was just too funny to pass up.

Well, if Belichick can win 11 games without Brady, is there really anyone he can not afford to lose? Even Pioli? I have been accused of being a McDaniels rump swab and do fear that the offense might take a step back without him, but I still think Belichick will find a way to win.

The good news is that the Pats could have two picks in each of the first three rounds or two first rounders and three second rounders come draft day. He has the opportunity to really load up in what many think might be a fairly strong draft.

People forget this.

Why do we all watch football? For entertainment. Has there been a more entertaining team than the Patriots for the last decade?

Not even close.

Damn you Scot Pioli!

Damn you Josh McDaniels!

Damn you Brad Seeley!

Damn you Matt Cassell!

So the rats are jumping off the sinking ship! Anyone else care to leave? Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out! We don't need one of the league's best personnel men, an OC, a special teams coach or healthy QB to win!

I think the Pats will be fine. The future is bright, and I feel like 12+ wins is more likely than 11 or less.
However...the continuity thing is becoming an issue. The Pats won their three titles with the same three coordinators (RAC, Charlie and Seely), and none during the musical chairs game that has been at coordinator spots since. It's just hard to win an SB without continuity in the coaching staff. From what I can remember, all recent SB champs had a lot of continuity on their staffs, and it showed.
Not to say they still won't do well, but you would be quite silly to totally discount that factor.

I thought that was the Jets' fans' suicide pact? And of course, the Pats gallantly saved them all by losing to them in OT.

Well, as usual, it will be interesting to see how the coaching staff fills out now that we have been thoroughly poached. As someone else said, though, ALL ABOARD for 2009! When is that draft anyway?

As an aside, since McD landed in Denver, does it seem more likely that Cassell will be here next year? They won't give up on Cutler there. Do you think Pioli will try to nab him for KC?
