Do you think Brady hears people saying trade him?

Do you think Brady knows that the media and a lot of fans are saying trade him? Alittle extra motivation for the 6 round pick that never seems to get the respect he deserves.

When most people talk about Tom Brady they refer to him as one of the top five best quarterbacks of all time, how much more respect could he get

Would we expect anything different from "cheerforTom".

lol

Never before have I expected to be talked down to for my love of Brady on a Patriots board, I'll give you that. As it is, what I said is and will always be true.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, so if the 49er's offered the Patriots: LB-Willis, CB-Clemons, RB-Gore, swapped first round choices, and next years' #1, you wouldn't give it consideration.
(note: its an example and is not taking into account salaries).

No, honestly, I would not do that deal. The 49ers have those 3 players and the team blows. The Patriots have Tom Brady, and they have 3 SB rings, 4 AFC championships, and a perfect season. You do the math.

Too many people here are in fantasy football leagues and are all about the stats and are living in some la la land. QB is the most important position, Brady and Peyton Manning are the 2 guys in the league that could go onto any team and make them a SB contender. Matt Cassel is not one of those guys, though he is a good player. We keep the MVP of the league, we contend every year.

WTF??? Are you kidding or serious?

I do not think Brady should be traded. I am saying the fans and media are saying this.Personally, I think it is stupid. Brady is a once in a lifetime qb. Any team he goes to becomes a contender. You would have to trade him to the nfc. Imagine Brady as a Bear.:banned:

Its not a matter if you would do the deal or not. The post was referring to 'people who are out of their friggin minds' who would consider trading Brady, in other words, there is not a trade in the league that a true Patriots fan would consider for Tom.
BTW, those championships were a team product and no way the Patriots would have won with a bad defense, which is what we currently have.

I agree its a team product. But a centerpiece is Brady. Great players don't just add up to championships. You just listed 3 superstars on the Niners, yet their team struggles each year. When you have a player who you've build a championship level offense around, you don't part with him.

I think we all understand the mindset...."Hey, we've got Matt Cassell! Think about how much we could get for Tommy to improve the team with Matt as our starter!"

This for some may sound like a good idea but it's right up there with cheating on your wife and selling her belongings while she's flat on her back in the hospital for a few months. Sure you're "getting some" with Cassell but do you really want a scorned Tom Brady gunning for the Patriots every chance he gets?

Picture this scenario: Brady gets traded then winds up with the Jets who will be thirsty for a new star QB in another year or two, does anyone who is a Patriots fan REALLY want to ever see one of our most beloved professional athletes playing for NY? It worked out SO well with Babe Ruth!

Nuh uh! NO WAY! Thanks Matt for the season and best of luck in your future but we'll wait patiently for Mr. Brady to return!

There are an endless list of teams with multiple superstars that struggle each year, just as there are an endless list of teams with great qb's who's teams struggle each year. Your comparing the 49er's to the Patriots which is not the equation. The scenario is getting a package of great players (IMO defensive players) to make a shut down defense while having a pretty good QB who is getting better in each game. Note, I'm not saying the Patriots should do this, what I object to is the fans calling out to members as disgraceful for even thinking it, which just fuels my jets. Many championships have been won on trading great players, and I really don't care if one is a fan favorite or not.

I think brady knows people are stupid, and that its never going to happen.

This is a great metaphor. Hehehe...

It's more of the disrespects from these "so call" fans that I don't care for...saying "hey...lets trade Brady" after Cassel played 2 great games. It's the whole "What have you done for me lately?" carried to the extreme.

I could understand of such talks if hyphotetically Cassel contract had ended next year and Brady struggled and we had a QB controversy...but right now?
RU kidding me? Where are the loyalties to your 3 times superbowl champ QB?

name one...Im talking about a great qb, not a really good qb, a great proven qb...the way i see it, is there are 2 great qbs in the nfl right now, and their teams hardly ever stuggel. If you wanted to be nice, you could say 3 and count favre, but his team isnt stuggling at the moment either.

There is NO TRADE from any team that would be worth trading brady. Not even peyton manning for brady straight up, thats how stupid ALL OF THESE THREADS ARE!

That puts a different spin on it, for sure.

When someone says "the Patriots should trade Tom Brady" it has the strong implication, to me anyway, that the Patriots should just go shopping for the highest bidder, that he is an asset they no longer need and a player that they should actively look to move. That notion is silly.

As you point out, there is a price for anything. If Minnesota offered up three future number one picks and Adrian Peterson, you do answer the phone.

But that does not mean you are actually looking to trade Tom Brady and that you should be spending your time trying to shop him around.

Does anybody on these boards seriously believe (or listen to claims) that we should trade Brady? It's one of those things that's just so stupid it's not even worth discussing. Everyone outside of these boards thinks so. Why are we different, exactly?

BB traded Bledsoe and let Milloy, Law, Branch, Andruzzi, McGinest, Woody, Graham and Patten go, among others, so I'm willing to bet he'd cut ANY player loose if the price was right and it was in the team's best interests. That includes Brady. Question is, what would that price be?

We, as fans, look at questions like this emotionally. BB also does on a personal level, but doesn't let that enter into his roster-related decision making and what helps the team win.

Make no mistake: There will come a time when BB cuts Tom loose in the best interests of the team. I suspect it will be a Favre-like move, when Tom is a bit older and some team out there thinks he's their ticket to the Super Bowl, a la Montana. But, it could happen sooner than we think, and there will be a HUGE uproar over it. BB will then proceed to win, as always.

I disagree, I say the retire at the same time.

What post stated: "We should trade Brady"? What I've been seeing is hysterical fans making irrational statements in response to a few fans who've made suggestions concerning Brady's worth.

Well, since you say there's only two great qb's in the league, lets go there.
Are you saying..........the Indianapolis Colts have not struggled this year?
Not to mention that the league has had great qb's that have never won championships, just ask Marino or Fouts.

I disagree. I think Brady will be an exception to that. Not only is Brady arguably the most outstanding quarterback to ever play the game but BB has made it clear that he could not personally like the man more. Brady, as a player, has done more for the franchise than any other person in its history. Even if his play got extremely questionable (and remember, questionable because of his decisions, not because of bad line or receiver play) I don't think he'd be cut.

I also don't think Brady will give him the chance: I very strongly believe that Brady will go out like John Elway: sooner than we think, after a Super Bowl win. If he doesn't win another one I still can't see him hanging around the team when he isn't producing anymore. He already has 3 rings and has a bright future ahead of him beyond football, he won't turn into Farve 2.0.

This is a very emotional post (which is fine, just a little short of logic). Do you really believe BB would keep someone on the roster because he really liked them for personal reasons? Secondly, a really good coach does not keep someone around for what they have done in the past (Ronnie Lott/ Joe Montana). You really like Tom Brady, I get that, and I believe he may be one of the greatest ever, but that wouldn't stop me from contemplating a trade for him.

they have, but they are still going to make the playoffs, and without manning, that doesnt happen. Marino is an example of a really good but not great qb...you play to win the big one, if you dont, you are not great.
