Enough with the Cassel bashing

My god people. The guy had 1 so so week and now we are killing him. He did not play great against Miami, but I wouldn't say he stunk either.

After the Jets game we were all saying he played well and that is what we expect. He needs to work on his red zone offense, but guys Cassel has played about 4 games since HS.

Even if Cassel went 30-33 with 5 TDS, we still would have lost. So what if he went 13-25 with 1 TD and 4 INT and we won, would you still be bashing him?

Is it Cassel's play or the loss against Miami? Because I'll tell you if we should be bashing anyone, it should be the defense.

No, he's played 3 "so-so" games with Randy Moss and Wes Welker as targets.

Have you been following the discussion here since the Miami game? There are probably six or so people regularly dumping on him, the previous poster representing one of that loud minority. If a thousand or so thread responses with fact-based arguments haven't changed their opinions, this thread certainly will not.

Cassel did what he had to do in the first two games. It was good for a rookie starter. The team, not Cassel, lost to Miami (he made his mistakes as well). The minority of Cassel-bashers seem to believe they are smarter than Belichick in making the best decisions to help a team compete, perhaps from enjoying a measure of success in Madden NFL believing that to exactly represent a real team. That fact alone makes their opinions less than worthy of recognition.

I agree the Cassel bashing is a little inappropriate. However, I think people bring up valid points. I think today is going to be a good barometer of what we have. Hopefully we are able to spread the field more. We desperately need to be able to utilize Moss as the deep field threat he has been throughout his career.

What you need to realize is that patsfans, which used to be awesome, smart & special, is now ruled by newbie teenager fans, who don't know what they're talking about. They think someone like Sage Rosenfels (who doesn't KNOW THE SYSTEM) would be some difference-making upgrade from Matt Cassel. They are ridiculous, childish and short-sighted. Trying to reach them is pointless. But I give you credit for trying.

Oh, and by the way - we lost last week because the players on BOTh sides of the lines were crappy and gutless. Matt Cassel had little do with it.
