I think it was in response to the Troy Brown tribute. Some Jets fans think Wayne can compare to Troy. As a reciever - sure, sans the game altering playoff/SB moments .....but as an overall player? Nope. Never.

Welker is a YAC guy. Chrebet was pure possession receiver, read coverages and sat down in the holes.

Great player. Welker has one great season under his belt, so I think it's premature to make the judgment that he is better so early in his career. Chrebet played with a lot of heart and a lot of skill for years.

He had some uncanny ability to get wide open at the worst possible time. Never understood how he semmingly would disappear in a crowd and reappear wide open in the flat ... hated when that happened.
