It's not a dumb question at all. Bottom line is what Brady are you trading and for what. Would you trade the 2003-2004 Brady ... heck no. How about the 2007 Tom Brady ... still no way.
Does Belichick know enough about Brady's medical history to know what he can get out of him into the future. Let's face it - none of us know what's the situation in his shoulder. or knee even. We make jokes about the injury list but there could be chronic problems in there that will only get worse.
All that being said ... 1 year of Brady could be worth everything to a team. They may want to sacrifice an entire draft of picks for 1 year of Brady.
You have to listen if someone calls you ... if you don't you suck as a GM and as a coach. Bill can win another Super Bowl without Brady if he could make a once every 10-20 years kind of defense out of the picks he gets.
