For the final time. I never said Welker and Edelman were the same player. Yet.
Also, it remains to be seen just how much of a downgrade Edelman would be if the Pats use more on the run game in their offense.
For the final time. No one said you did. You just can't seem to comprehend that. What was said was that there was a significant difference in talent between Welker and Edelman and that you saying that the Pats downgrading at the slot receiver to potentially add a guy at the X or Z receiver spot who may or may not help the team doesn't make sense.
You tried to throw a little jab and it blew up in your face. Funny really.
No, it wasn't a little jab. But that's just goes to show the poor reading comprehension level you have.
No, I havent lost the argument.
Yes. Yes you did. Just by virtue that you had to resort to pointing out mis-spellings only to do it twice yourself.
My points are valid and sound. The Jets gane exposed the Pats becuase they had no deep threat. The Jets never had to worry about Brady throwing the home run and Brady had no where to throw underneath except in tight windows.
I dont expect for BB to stand pat and keep things the same. You do.
That's just it. You're points are half-assed at best. And the reason the Jets didn't have to worry about the "home run" is because Hernandez was out and Gronk had a poor game. But, don't let the facts get in the way of you defending your position.
YOU expect BB to change for the sake of Change. I expect BB to make rational decisions based on the empirical evidence that the team gathers.
As for why they lost the Jets game, the fact you believe that it was lost only because of a lack of a deep threat and not the lack of execution of plays by the Patriots shows how simplistic your views actually are.

Wrong.
The Pats WR coach thinks youre full of *****.
Pats WR Edelman Sophomore Slump Tied to Drops | Football News Now
“Julian has had some drops during his last couple times out,” wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea said via the Boston Herald. ”I know he’s going to work real hard to try to correct that, specifically, catch the ball, which I know he will work hard to do so.”
So, you post a quote from a no name website and think you are are somehow vindicated?
Let's look at a few things:
1) That article was posted on December 22. By that time the Pats had played 14 games.
2) Edelman was only targeted 14 times ALL SEASON. He had, what, 3 drops all season. And you, somehow, conclude that the reason he had so few reps was because of 2 drops that happened in weeks 12 and 13? What about weeks 2 through 11 where he didn't see the field much except on punt returns?
3) From week 2 through week 7, Edelman was in on less than 16% of the plays. And that included punt returns... But, yes, it was because of the drops in week 12 and 13 and not because the Pats used the fewest number of multi-WR sets since BB took over as coach.
4) BTW, you really should go back and read that article again because you purposely left out a section.
Edelman would have always sat behind top-two receivers Wes Welker and Deion Branch, but fellow second-year player Brandon Tate’s deep play capabilities and rookie tight end duo Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski’s progress has buried him deep on the team’s roster.
Having 5 other guys in front of him didn't contribute to Edelman's lack of playing time. Not to mention Woodhead who sucked up some of the passes out of the backfield that Edelman saw the year before.
Belichick wont be that foolish to put that much pressure on a 2nd year developing player. It would be different if Price was like Branch who had a very strong rookie season.
Price can learn behind a proven FA WR whoever the Pats sign up.
What pressure is there if he earns the spot?
We are talking about running routes and catching a football. If a current WR lands on IR, youre bringing in a guy off the street to replace him anyway. Its no different. These guys have seen just about every route imaginable and been playing football since pee wee league. Its learning the terminology.
The sky is not falling if you bring a deep threat WR this month.
WOW. First off, the Pats run a route tree. That means that each individual receiver has between 3 and 6 different routes he can run based on his read of the defense. And it's expected that he and the QB read the defense the same so that are in sync.
And no, if a WR on the team goes onto IR, they are not bringing in a guy off the street. They'll bring in a guy off the practice squad like Darnell Jenkins or Buddy Farnham.
Based on your idea that "these guys have seen everything", Doug Gabriel was a HOFer for the Pats.. So was Joey Galloway..
If it was as easy as you claimed, then there wouldn't be such a long listed of failures at the WR position for the Pats from 2005 through 2008.
