Why Vinatieri is a Colt not a Cowboy

The money-grubbing whore didn't realize that NaPolian would come crawling back to him like a jilted prom date after a couple days. It just goes to show the only thing Vinatieri saw was dollar signs.

I don't doubt either story version has more than a little validity. There was something of an unspoken gentlemen's agreement (or collusion) surrounding the AV market, similar to what transpired when they gave Branch and his agent the test the market ultimatum. Only in both cases there was someone not playing the game by the old boy network rules. In Adam's case it was Polian (once he got word through the player/agent pipeline that the player was really available) and in Branch's case it was the JETS (who were likely doing a favor for a NY based agent that attracted the attention of the Seahawks - the only team really in the bidding).

Hopefully our FO learned a valuable lesson in all this though. Since it appears in hindlight they were willing to pay both players their asking price only not until their feet were held to the fire.

Why are we analyzing stuff some doofus made up?

He can guess any reasons he wants, including a secret agreement be Parcells and BB that Parcells wouldn't go after a FA even though Parcells was in need of a kicker.

But it's still all stuff he made up.
